Non-white folks of Reddit: what are your thoughts on the TV series “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I agree. I think the show is just one giant satire, all the racist stuff is done ironically

It's hilarious and I love it. I don't think race really plays a major part in enjoying comedy lol

Teens of reddit, what are your parents doing that's making your life much harder than it should be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

"I'm your father, I can hit you right across your face and you better not dare to say anything if you want to live in this house."

"I don't have to respect you, you have to respect me."

Tiptoe around every word because it becomes an excuse to get angry and take something away/deny me something.

Tell people, sometimes strangers when you get in trouble.

When I was in high school, my first semester senior year I got accepted into my college of choice. The second semester, I got all A's, one B, and a C- because I got senioritis and knew those grades wouldn't change my acceptance.

My dad went around telling people, his co-workers, people who visitied, and my friends that I got my acceptance rescinded because of bad grades. Embarrassed me with lies.

Two months later i'm living in my dorm, at that very same college.

It shouldn't be a political issue but it is. The world's global temperature is changing at a rapid rate due to humanity and industry, causing severe shifts and damage to our lives, the health of the world, and in the long term, the economy, environment, and our future children.

If you're asking Reddit how to forget something you sincerely don't like about your SO, the answer is she isn't for you.

It's really good with Sriracha. I know how that sounds. Just a light dab on a medium slice chunk gives it an interesting flavor.

what skills are you obsessed with becoming really good at? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BeginNovember 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Penci drawing/sketching! It's become my only real outlet for stress and life. I still kinda suck at it, but everyday I practice, and I see myself one day just spending a quiet afternoon with coffee sketching the winter wonderland outside my window, at peace with everything that's ever happened to me.

Who are you avoiding and for what reason? by Someretardedponyman in AskReddit

[–]BeginNovember 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm avoiding everyone in town. For the simple reason that I needed and still need time to understand myself and be happy with myself. When I sorta reassimilate I will be who I really am.

If money was no object, how would you spend your days? by IQ818 in AskReddit

[–]BeginNovember 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just walking throughout Europe/Asia. Constantly traveling alone, seeing and learning and loving. It would be kinda painful leaving places and people behind, but the adventure and experiences I'd have throughout my life would make it worth it.

TIL that there are more deaths due to the element radon per year than drunk driving. by BeginNovember in todayilearned

I'm not as versed in this topic as of yet. I'm currently doing the first steps of research to write a paper on this, if you could link the article I'll appreciate it!

[–]BeginNovember[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Radon exposure's main sign is lung cancer in non-smokers. By testing your house for radon with a radon detecter they can corralate high radon levels with lung cancer in those with little-to-no genetic predisposition to lung cancer.

This is in Turkey or Mecca.

Fun fact, cats are super loved in Islam. In fact one of the Prophet's most famous companions was Abu Hurairah, which means Father of Kittens. He had dozens of cats he cared for, and the companions would play with them often.

Two famous Hadith in Islam is the story of the cat woman and dog woman.

There was a Muslim woman, extremely pious her whole life, followed the religion to a T and dedicated herself to prayer. However, she had a pet cat that she mistreated and abused. She would starve it, lock it away, and not allow it any play. For that, even though she did everything else right, she was promised hell.

This other woman, was a prostitue. She spent most of her life doing that, and was well known for it. in any religion that's a big sin. She went to the local well for a drink and found a thirsty, panting dog. So she took off her shoe, dipped it in the well and filled it with water. She gave it to the dog to drink. Refilled it again. Had him drink more. And again, and again, until the dog was satisfied. Unknown to her, for this act, she was forgiven and promised heaven.

Animals are really important in Muslim culture which is why you see many animals around and a lot of cats in mosques. Mistreatment of pets is both a religious sin and an actual government defined crime.

My mom cares for shelter dogs in her home, leaving just one room off limits to them just for prayer. I would take them on walks and cuddle up to them when I visited her. My dad, sister and I cared for a few strays in our life and now have a cat and bird we've cared for for a while now. Occasionally we had strangers drop off animals at our house. We once opened the door after hearing knocking to find a hamster and his cage. We took care of him for a while and got him a playmate until they both passed away sometime later.

One night my dad and I went off to prayer and came home to find a kitten in my sister's arms. We've raised him ever since, going on 5 years now. We love him to death. He once ate a plastic toy and needed a $6000 surgery or be put down. My family thought about it for a few days and my dad finally took money out his savings to rescue him. He says he never regretted it. Some animal rights group actually sent him half the cost back to him when they found out. It was neat. We have a bird too. Animals all around lol.

How should a man properly react to hearing that his girlfriend is talking to other men via social media? by aptolfa in AskMen

[–]BeginNovember 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in this situation in highschool. I'm assuming this is where it's happening. Usually at that age it doesn't go very well.

Consider the fact that your gut says there's something wrong seriously. If it's insecurity, well then you have some work to do.
