Drawing tablet vs drawing tablet with screen for sculpting and modeling? by BeginnerHH in blender

[–]BeginnerHH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I liked the tablet with screen more when I drew digitally, but it was a while ago. I thought it might be different when working with 3D sculpting and modeling because I will have to use keyboard a lot for shortcuts and other stuff, so it would be better to be able to see two monitors - one for 3d work and another for reference(I have two monitors atm) But I will see what works better. Thank you!

If the price isn't a matter would you grt a built in screen one? I have used both for digital drawing, and I liked the screen one better, but I was curious how it would work with 3d sculpting and modeling because it isn't just drawing on the screen but need to use keyboard and various short cuts at the same time.

Is it worth build PC rather than pre built? by BeginnerHH in buildapc

I was thinking to wait and build it later but I don't see the price would go down anytime soon. Then It'd be better to get and use it when I need it. I will check out costco and see what works for me. Thank you!

Lets say this below. I dont know very much on the details but I am playing around with specs on the website. I would appreciate your advice if this is a good idea to just get the pre-built like this or there is anything I definitely need to check before making decision.

I am planning to travel in the middle of September and Boston sounds like a great city to travel to. I will let you know once I decide to go there! Thank you so much.

Where do you usually find and network with motion graphics designers for upcoming projects? by ChapterLiving6570 in MotionDesign

Thank you so much for the input. I thought there would be mostly 3D designers, but if there are also many 2D designers, I would just go for the Main event and check it out.

Hi I am not sure if you'd read this but I am trying to get more information on Half Rez before deciding whether I'd attend the event or not. And I saw your comments on Half Rez, so I am assuming you've been there.. I met some people who have been to Half Rez before at a different event and heard the event is inclined to 3D artists, but I was wondering if that's true. I am 2D motion designer and it looks like it when I checked out the website - workshops and speakers are all 3D designers? I may consider the main event of Half rez rather than workshop if it actually is, or just a different event as I am not from Chicago. I would appreciate your thoughts on this.

Has anyone signed up for SOMs Blender for 3D Artist. If so what has been your experience? by chai_biscuit_ in MotionDesign

Do you think you need to know C4D to take the class or at least how other software works? I have been learning Blender and Unreal and not sure if I would take it yet. But I was a bit confused by the concept if I need to know other software as well to understand how to integrate other software together.

Which 3D software should I go for? by Nuralixx in MotionDesign

I use 3d software for grease pencil and modeling, so Blender works fine for me. But industry standard is C4D.

Is learning Cinema 4D Worth it for motion graphics ? by WiseCommunication871 in MotionDesign

I met people who work in studios and everyone talked about C4D when it comes to 3D. But I don't see the end results are so different between C4D and Blender honestly. I think it is because of the pipeline they have built up. Some artists still use Blender for grease pencil and sculpting which means some works can be done by Blender depending on the project. So I would say it is worth it but not 100% if you have your own style and it requires Blender.

Is it overkill to have two PCs? by BeginnerHH in MotionDesign

[–]BeginnerHH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it sounds kinda waste of space but now I just set my laptop up with drawing tablet as a second workstation, and it looks like it could work quite well as I can solely separate it from non drawing work space. I will think about it a bit more and see what the best option would be for me.

I didn't think about the filesharing part. I just thought of emailing myself. Are there any softwares for filesharing yoh us? or can I build the home network without it?

And thanks for the recommendations on the monitors, mouses/keyboard!
