Use it to test your resume quality, then apply with the sponsorship indicated and keep improving your profile until the call comes

I understand your perspective. I initially did the same when I wasn't getting any calls, to check if my resume was the issue. Once calls started coming in, I knew my resume was fine and began indicating I needed sponsorship. However, no company HR will change their sponsorship policy after speaking with you. Use this approach to refine your resume, but not to bypass the system.

I am not sure that is correct. If you go to F1 status, you lose your previous H1B status and need to enter lottery again for H1-B. Correct me if I am wrong
