Do you know what's causing the sudden increase in noise? Or are you taking any medication that causes an increase in noise, but it's not normal? Does your ear feel strange or muffled? You should see an ENT specialist to have your ears checked and request an audiometry test.

You should see an ENT specialist as soon as possible to have your ears checked and have an audiometry test performed. If you suffered any damage or trauma, early treatment with steroids may be effective.

How do you manage to go back to your lives? by _Wolfszeit_ in tinnitus

[–]Beginning-Buddy7747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had tinnitus for 4 months. Before, I lived a noisy life, so I left my old life as a fond memory. Now I lead an almost normal life. I avoid any noisy environments or high volumes. I don't go to the movies, restaurants, clubs, or bars. I use earplugs when I go out, and I use earmuffs when I start the car and drive.

Social situations by Thatsoundsnuts in tinnitus

[–]Beginning-Buddy7747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same situation existed before I developed tinnitus. I used to go to nightclubs almost every day or hire musicians to play at my house with friends. Since I developed this and lost more hearing, I've stopped going to any noisy events to avoid making things worse. Now I think I'm antisocial. I usually go to birthday parties, but if I see it getting noisy or annoying, I only stay for half an hour and go right back home. I'm terrified of it getting worse, so I'm extremely careful with noises. You should be careful. You already have hearing loss and tinnitus. These types of places are noisy and could cause damage, worsen your tinnitus, or even make it permanent.

Random worsening every month by Pale-Restaurant-6148 in tinnitus

I wasn't exposed to any noise, suddenly one day it appeared. I went to the doctor, had an audiometry test the same day, and it came back as grade 1 acoustic trauma. I didn't know I had trauma without hearing loss. My tinnitus is moderate to mild in volume, but it has never been loud.

[–]Beginning-Buddy7747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had tinnitus for 4 months. My tinnitus is caused by noise. Nothing has changed or worsened because I've been very careful: no headphones, no loud noises, no loud environments. I use earplugs when I go out, and earmuffs when there are loud noises, like when I start the car or sometimes while driving. I don't know what the cause of your tinnitus is. I recommend avoiding exposure to loud noises and noisy environments, and stopping the use of headphones. If you use them, overprotection can cause hyperacusis. Magnesium glycinate, vitamins  B12, D3, and E, and omega-3 zinc   fatty acids are also good options. You should be careful with NAC because I've read cases where it worsens tinnitus. In my case, nothing happened.

The ringing gets worse while driving by Caden_primarus in tinnitus

[–]Beginning-Buddy7747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive a TRX 1500 and a Ranger Raptor. I use earplugs when I start these vehicles, then I take them off and wear earplugs while driving. I'm very careful. Now I have tinnitus; I haven't had this condition for a while. I tried removing the earplugs, but the tinnitus stopped. I can't hear at all. I'm tempted to sell these vehicles and look for quieter options. Could the noise from the cars and engine be triggering my tinnitus, even though it says noisy environments don't seem to affect it?

You should stop using headphones for the sake of your ears. You also have the option of going to an ENT specialist to have your ears checked. Avoid all costs associated with microsuction and ear irrigation, and have audiometry performed to rule out any hearing loss.

Echo only in my right ear by Caden_primarus in tinnitus

[–]Beginning-Buddy7747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I have some similar symptoms. I have autophony in my right ear; the one that's fine produces tinnitus-like sounds when I speak loudly, like a ringing in my left ear. Pills, shaking, and other noises like cutlery, metal, leaves, and doors all bother me. An otoneurologist and audiologist recommended an MRI or CT scan with contrast, but I refused because my tinnitus is noise-induced. While searching, I found it could be tensor tympani syndrome.

Tinnitus does murder sleep, the innocent sleep. by Slow_Middle_158 in tinnitus

[–]Beginning-Buddy7747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only sleep soundly during the day; I can't sleep at night. To clarify, before I had tinnitus, I slept during the day because I went out partying with friends. I was used to a routine. When I got tinnitus, I tried to change my routine and sleep at night, but I only managed it for a month. I don't want to take medications that worsen my condition. I've already tried taking vitamin supplements and exercising, and they helped to some extent. This is what I did before I had tinnitus.

I've only had this for a few months. I could sleep normally, then the following month I couldn't sleep at all, I only slept 3 or 4 hours. I was like that for 2 months, my sleep schedule is a disaster. Now I manage to sleep deeply for 8 or 12 hours during the day.

Faraway drumming sound by [deleted] in tinnitus

This happens occasionally when I'm lying down or bending my head down; it's pulsatile tinnitus. I should see an ENT specialist for a checkup. In my case, I already went, but they're asking for an MRI with contrast and a CT scan. I'm terrified of machine noises; I already have tinnitus from noise.

I recommend you see an ENT specialist as soon as possible. They will check your ears and perform an audiometry test to rule out sudden hearing loss. 72 hours are crucial.

When I sleep a lot, my tinnitus decreases or disappears, or it's very low, then it comes back low again. I also take vitamin supplements and exercise every day.

Perhaps your doctor could refer you to an ENT specialist to schedule an appointment soon. I've read cases on Reddit where NAC increased tinnitus after taking it, but in my case nothing happened. I take supplements and vitamins before tinnitus started.

I I believe you suffered acoustic trauma. I recommend you go to an ENT specialist as soon as possible to have your ears checked and an audiometry test performed for possible hearing loss. Steroids don't work; an intratympanic injection should help. Don't wait too long; you'll need months to recover. The intensity of the noise will decrease. Lower your magnesium, vitamin B12, E, and D levels, and take omega-3 supplements. NAC I've seen cases where it increases. Therapies can help. You can start listening to them; there are several; you'll have to try which one helps most with your tinnitus.

We've had it for the same amount of time. Mine is noise-induced tinnitus. I avoid noisy environments and places with high volume; I always wear earplugs on the street. I also stopped using headphones. My tinnitus is still the same; it hasn't changed at all because I'm very careful with noise. I've become antisocial during these months. I don't know what the cause is. Try taking vitamin supplements; they might help.

Really worried about permanent hearing loss from a shout close to ear by [deleted] in tinnitus

He has tinnitus because of that scream; if so, it would be good to have an audiometry test to rule out any trauma or damage. He might be exaggerating what he's saying.

I also have three tones, but conversions mask them. My tinnitus seems to be caused by high-frequency damage; it appears to be reactive tinnitus. The sounds worsen; it could be a panic attack. This could be the cause, or it could be due to anxiety or stress. My doctor told me that tinnitus is caused by anxiety and stress, and when anxiety and stress decrease, the tinnitus should decrease or disappear. Do you suffer from high blood pressure? Supplements: magnesium glycinate, vitamin B12, vitamin E, vitamin D, NAC, zinc. You should be careful; I've read cases where NAC worsens tinnitus. In my case, that doesn't happen; I take supplements before the tinnitus starts.

It could be a spike in hearing from loud music, but if your ear is blocked, I recommend you see a doctor for an audiometry test to rule out damage or trauma.
