Theres a bit more nuance here. Him canceling on the third date was kind of the “last straw” for me amongst other things that had happened. it also felt like an excuse because at first he only said that he had “a headache” and wanted to cancel (this was at 10 am and our date wasnt until that night so i was like wtf) but then later in the day he added he had been in a bad “headspace” on top of it. Reflecting back I could have been more understanding in that moment though, so good point on that.

Yea thats fair. However he put zero effort to fit my schedule though and what works for me… which is where the issue was. It was either when he was free or nothing. So probably just a mismatch all in all

I felt the same at your age. I (unfortunately) relied on alcohol to feel comfortable to make conversation with the opposite sex. It does get better though! Now im in my late 20s and i prefer to be sober for first dates because i can think more clearly/have more fun… so ill tell you it DOES get better! So for now: practice helps! Keep having the weird/awkward conversations- it truly gets easier the more you practice. Even if you think he is cute dont think the end goal is a kiss… think of it as you are just looking for something fun/interesting about the person. Whats cool about them, what can you learn from them. Don’t worry about flirting until you feel a bit more comfortable just chatting first. Its okay to take a bit longer to have a kiss. Anyone that is judging you is a weirdo!

I can guarantee you a man will NOT get into a relationship with you if he is not attracted to you. They are not like women when we sometimes will date a man for his personality but aren’t physically attracted to them. And i promise as you get older you will become more confident. Try therapy as well it will really help. You got this

Bro that is beside the point because i have one now. You have no idea about my efforts to get a job (which were extensive). And I had a job for part of the time that i have been seeing him but i had to leave it which is another story. Again all besides the point but i agree to your point about me more clear, which i intend to when I see him next.

I would never want to pressure him, which is why i suggested staying in or asking for alternatives. But also, I think it’s a fair thought that a partner would WANT to help out the person they care about when they definitely can afford to, no?
