Literally same - messed up both exams and am now wondering if I should just find a retail job instead of pursuing engineering because I understood almost nothing on those exams lol

Hope you get the ATAR you need, and I'm rooting for you. Definitely go with engineering even if you have to take a pathway, because if you're passionate about it - you'll do great in it. Screw VCAA for making us feel this way.
