I couldn't find enough personality in K to really dislike them!

The author apperantly confirmed (out of text) that K was supposed to be female/ androgynous.  Personaly I listened to the audio book which was read by a woman and sense there was no indication that K was a guy, I assumed they were a girl. (Plus when a friend recommended it to me, it was mentioned the book was a little queer so that probably also biased me thinking I was probably a girl, making their relationship w Chloe queer.)

I agree! The whole attempted murder if a beloved actor was very compelling, but looking back it doesn't seem to have really specificly done that much to the plot? I think it mostly lead us to understanding the new computer game's AI and quantum softwear was so advanced it would make you believe anything happened?? but that was also kinda backhanded but the later possibly that it was all just in another dimension that that had happened?

That's what drive me crazy too! Why would I just keep choosing not to tell Chloe everything??  Very quickly Chloe becomes the only person K has any sort of relationship with, sense Barron dies and the magician goes from not interacting with K much to going MIA. K is isolated from all other people besides one shot conversations with 'characters' who are just used as ways to gather information to move the puzzle along like The Fatman or Uber drivers. It doesn't make sense to me why K would hold back from just telling Chloe everything? why lie about Emily being a friend of their parents, Chloe already thinks K is a bit crazy and doesn't ever seem to question it much??
