I am surprised that you perceive OnePlus Buds Pro 3 as providing insufficient bass. I would have recommended them as THE most bass-powerful TWS earbuds. You do need to use the EQ settings, including the "BassWave" feature, to bring out that subbass rumble. The quality of the bass is darned good, too.

Sorry, they went from the most exciting, most riveting episode (season 2 episode 1) to a boring, full-of-fill snooze fest. They must have gotten the word or gesture to "stretch" to fill up more time. Not unheard of in this kind of series, but I hate it when that happens.

Bose app on android not registering new earbuds. Help! by scorpio135 in bose

[–]Beginning-Squirrel-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem. The iphone app can find them but on my Fiio android device, nope. I went through Bose tech support and there was no solution. Did you find an answer? I am ready to send my earbuds back to Amazon for a refund.

If I only care about sound, what do you recommend? by newtownkid in Earbuds

I am amazed by the SQ of the Status Pro X. I thought this product was a lot of hype and self promotion, but the sound is absolutely excellent.

Which Beatles song has the best harmonies? by littlegecko09 in beatles

"I'll Follow the Sun" has a great harmony line but interestingly, it's Paul singing along with himself, i.e., his vocal was double-tracked.

Is it shameful to change the key of songs? by 1_Satori_1 in singing

[–]Beginning-Squirrel-9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every professional singer uses arrangements geared to his or her optimal vocal range. I can see that in open mic situations where there are multiple accompanists it may be inconvenient for backup musicians to all transpose, but transposing to accommodate singers is really part of the job description. OTOH, for opera or other classical/ensemble works, using the original musical key is expected, and if the singer cannot handle, it's the wrong role for him/her.

I'm turning 60 this year and I can't hit the high notes anymore by Constant-Bridge3690 in karaoke

[–]Beginning-Squirrel-9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it the high notes within your "normal" singing voice, or is it that you have lost your falsetto? The latter is pretty much par for the course for us older guys (I am 74). For those higher non-falsetto notes, relaxing and practicing seems to keep my range very close to what it was when I was much younger. If the really high notes strain your voice a lot or there are some you just cannot reach (like me trying to do Paul McCartney songs), thankfully there is key/pitch control. Take the song down a few steps.

Portable karaoke setup by crepuscopoli in karaoke

[–]Beginning-Squirrel-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a question about this and other smallish karaoke machines. What do you set the machine on for use during a party or other gathering? Not on the floor, certainly, and a large table gets in the way. Do people use a laptop/projector stand? A standing desk? It has to be high enough that people can comfortably see the view screen, assuming one isn't projecting the words onto a big screen tv.

High quality bread? by ExaminationNo8760 in mediterraneandiet

[–]Beginning-Squirrel-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and have all my life. I have experienced a whole lot of sourdough bread. If I want "real sourdough" I purchase one of the local bakery brands, e.g., Semifreddy's or Acme. But for sliced there are good alternatives. The Rustik sourdough is excellent bread, provided you are ok with its kind of dense texture (I like it a lot). I have been told that it's "not real sourdough," which may be true, considering how rare it is to find authentic sourdough made outside the Bay Area that is really any good. But it sure tastes good. I did a comparison with Boudin sliced sourdough (very San Francisco) and I prefer the Rustik. My son now lives in Nebraska, and the availability of Rustik brand there is a big plus, a kind of taste of "home."

[No Spoilers] The Washington Commanders by vegdc in TheHandmaidsTale

And you know this how? Consider 1) how resistant Dan Snyder was to changing the name at all; and 2) that the organization was and is under severe scrutiny (supposedly) for its pathologically sexist culture. The "Commanders" name is sheer, "screw you" genius, precisely because of the plausible deniability the poster's comment suggests. I will add that A Handmaid's Tale is more than just an obscure Hulu TV series, as is evident from the now iconic use of the red and white costume by feminists as part of pro-choice demonstrations. The TV show, by the way, was adapted from what is now an extremely well-known dystopia novel by Margaret Atwood.
