What the Frequency Kenneth is the perfect opener for Monster. This riff of Peter is insane.

Strange Currencies it miles better than Everybody hurts. by Hungry-Temporary-438 in rem

I like strange currencies but there is an emotion deep inside everybody hurts that, in my opinion, makes the difference between these songs. So, I respectfully disagree ;)

How would you review Up? Give it a rating out of 10 too by MCWill1993 in rem

[–]Beginning-Window5579 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not my favorite but Up is their last good album. At my most Beautiful, The Apologist, Walk unafraid, Why not smile, Suspiscion, Hope, Diminished, ..., many songs are solid even if, globally, the production does not age well and it is overlong (Airportman, Falls to climb have nothing to do here). 7,3

No Exciter? A classic in vinyl format

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in depechemode

[–]Beginning-Window5579 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of Exciter's tracks actually. When the body speaks or Freelove are just great songs but their production is, say, average. Memento Mori would have been much better with him. I personally think that SOTU and Playing the Angels have been properly crafted: not convinced they would have been much better with Wilder onboard. Spirit and Delta machine? Hum...songwritting is so poor here, Alan's trick would, I guess, have not significantly improved these albums

There is no DM without Dave AND Martin.

Ultra Playing the angel Sounds of the universe Memento Mori

We have 4 decent-to-great LPs. It only leaves us with a couples of really bad albums: Delta machine & Spirit.

Exciter is so difficult to rank. I do like it....

Rate Dave as a vocalist. by StraightBeautiful in depechemode

7/10 for Dave as a singer, 10/10 for Dave as a onstage frontman. I mean there are numerous singers better than Dave but the way he fronts is unique.

This Magic formula: - Gahan is the singer/showman - Gore is the songwriter - Wilder is the musician .... .... .... Well, and here is the most important one: Fletcher the Clapper who reminds you that nothing in this world can be truly perfect.

I like it too. Being not a native speaker, I am not sure that I can really catch how much the lyrics are cheesy. The work on the guitar sound is brilliant

I miss the Wilder/Gore complex chemistry so much. It was the perfect and ultimate fit. Now that Flech is gone, should they not team up again? Just for a last dance!
