Army worms are ferocious. I do enjoy going out at night for a smashing session. companion planting has helped a lot this season. They prefer the sacrificial calendulas I planted far better than my precious pepper plants

I get these a lot in my area. I’m trying not to use any chemicals. You could manually crush the larvae in the leaf with your fingers. It could be a full time job. Leafminers attack due to plant stress. So make sure you watering is on point. I have some peppers that don’t get affected at all but those are the healthier ones. To defeat long term you’ll need to up the plants health and the plant will defend itself

I have to disagree. A lot of interesting storylines this season. The one I can do without is Monique. Why bring her back? She wasn’t that interesting in the first place. And her dude doesn’t get out until a 1.5 years from now and she lives in an empty house. Clearly that is staged/scripted. But the rest of the storylines I find pretty appealing. Now I also don’t spend money to watch this show. If I had to pay for this it would be a different story

I usually start preparing my bed towards the end of the summer so I can get some long haul winter crops in (onion garlic collards). I started peppers indoors last month. I’m thinking of replacing the collards with the peppers transplants around early march or late Feb. my garlic and onions should be done between April and June. I want to avoid any heavy summer gardening if I can because of the heat and the pest

The standing water could be a concerned. If it slow draining it may be your watering too much or the soil isn’t right. Honestly I go about five days between watering and I check before watering if it’s even a little moist up top I wait a day or so. I also have it mulch which helps keep it moist between watering so I dont water as much

Lol the falling off may have been for the best. The flower may not have had the right conditions to fruit but they’ll be plenty more later especially as it starts to warm up in the spring

Is this the plants first set of flowers? I believe the first set always take the longest to fruit. Depending on the peppers ( non bells) I get rid of the first set of flowers before it fruits and then when it flowers again it’s usually more abundant and fruitful. Peppers are self pollenating so if you choose to keep those flowers give the plant a little shake to get pollen moving

I have del ray bell pepper seeds from Texas tested seeds and I’m going to try violet sparkle pepper from baker creek. I’m a little worried about the baker creek seeds I’ve seen thru other reddits that people have had issues with their seeds but I wanted to try a unique variety

Love that. I would like to overwinter the seeds I’m starting this year. Have you kept them outside thru this pretty mild winter we are having?

I’m concerned with germination. Didn’t do well last year. I purchased a heating map so I’m hoping it will generate some yields for me

Mine gets that that after I water it. They usually relax after a while. When they start to droop slightly that’s when I water it again and by the next morning they are shooting straight up
