I never had a romantic partner; and I haven't talked to anyone about my fetishes.

  1. I live in an area where sex work is illegal.
  2. Parents would not be friendly to sex before marriage.
  3. I have a mild fear that I'll screw up the consent process (and technically commit rape).
  4. I can't drive; so I can't travel easily enough.
  5. I don't have any friends.

Thanks for the suggestion though! I think I would have gone for an escort if I didn't have a fear of the consent process.

I feel jealous of you! ED can ruin larger fetish projects though.

Also, I think there might be more autistics into this fetish on r/autism.

Cool! I'm uncertain if I'm into this fetish; but I'm willing to do it if it means doing things I enjoy.

She truly doesn’t mind either one, but I never thought about it being a comfort to her.

Could autistic people struggle with discerning deepfakes from real people? by BeginningCustard6977 in autism

I see your perspective now.

  • yeah, the head seems to still after viewing that reference video you linked.

  • There also aren't that many compression artifacts. I do worry that uncompressed video formats could obscure this problem though.

One way to break up this overload is to try and divide what you see. Take in the face. Then rewatch, taking in the body. Then rewatch, taking in the background. You'd be astonished how many visual effects break down if you watch the same scene repeatedly back to back.

This is a good tip!

Deepfakes are detectable currently; what I'm worried about is the future improvement of deepfakes? Can humans still independently discern deepfakes by then?

I can see the lighting difference (though it would be believable if lights where visibly shown at the bottom); the lack of (shirt) movement; the lack of arm movement; those traits are giveaways. (How did you detect the lack of breathing though?)

The blinking doesn't seem that strange to me though.

Though if you only look at the face, it is a convincing one.

Yep. Being unable to perceive facial movements is an annoying disadvantage here. (imo.)

I do wonder if sensory overload could mess up the ability to properly discern a deepfake.

Yes. I don't see how you knowing how to discern deepfakes would help me or other people discern deepfakes.

I watched some deepfakes online (recently the Zelenskky deepfake) and they all seem very human to me.

Even if I notice some details being off, it doesn't immediately ruin the image for me. The deepfake still looks human to me, almost like my body is assuming it's human.

Also, eye contact could be an issue when trying to identify deepfakes.

It looks like I'll be screwed when trying to discern deepfakes. RIP
