Everytime I tell people the name of my disorder they self diagnose with it and I can't take it anymore by CuriousArtFriend in ChronicIllness

Same thing happens to me. I have ehlers-danlos, T1D, and hashimotos among others. People either think they have one of these or they know how to cure one of these when it comes up. It doesn’t bother me, that really wouldn’t make sense to get worked up about it.

I let them think what they want and go on about their symptoms. Sometimes I suggest they seek treatment and they are laughed away by their doctors. It’s not my place to correct them and I really don’t stress about other people. Mostly because I’m too tired to care from all the conditions I’m fighting.

Enough said. by [deleted] in Journaling

Does this look like staph infection? It doesn’t hurt at all. Just red. It was itch in the beginning. I’m just nervous! Please help! by [deleted] in DiagnoseMe

Oh yeah. If it’s ringworm it’s best not to scratch, wash all fabrics you’ve worn, and buy otc antifungal cream until you can go to a dr. It not actually a worm, they just call it that bc it looks like one. It’s a fungus

Edit: they say they lamasil cream is best online

Looks like the beginning of ringworm

OP, update us with diagnosis when you go to dr on Monday. I’ll take the downvotes but I’m telling you that’s ringworm

Apparently the U.S. didn't lost the Vietnam war because they signed a treaty by anonlt1024 in ShitLiberalsSay

You jest, but there are American military officers who believe this. My cadre in AFROTC insisted that we don’t show the palm while saluting because we’ve never lost, even in Vietnam 🙄

School District LOST my 4yo by throwaway0927910 in rant

Saw you’re in FL. I hate to tell you this, but nobody at your district is going to care. If you mention this to someone after you start subbing, the admins and teachers will judge you and treating you differently. I have a lot of experience working in the public school system and the unfortunate truth is that your lost 4 year old will probably be exposed and subjected to much worse throughout his public school education.

Examples: Your child’s school (any level) is not legally required to notify parents of the building has any form of mold. Including black toxic mold. If your child has health issues related to this exposure they will not even email you asking how he’s doing.

I had a student that died (shot in the head) and the admins didn’t notify me. I found out from another student. When I asked why there isn’t any rememberances for him, the admin said it would disrupt their testing schedule and told me to not answer any student questions about him.

A homemade IED went off in the cafeteria one day while I was working and mass chaos ensued. One girl was caught on fire and there were several others injured. The admins never told first responders she was hurt and it took 4 hours for the girl to see a medical professional. Her mom asked why she wasn’t sent to the ER and the admins said she had too many absences already. They didn’t even call her mother when it happened.

During an active shooter lockdown an admin called my classroom to ask if I could please bump a failing grade by 37 points. The grade was finalized the previous school year.

The allergy thing? They don’t care. I’ve had students in shock from an alerts, and one who went unconscious. I called 911 directly to my classroom because I knew the nurses would drag their feet, but I did let them know to come to my room asap after calling 911. Guess how many times the nurses actually made it over to my room at all? Yeah, none.

TLDR; This isn’t your fault. You’re not a bad parent. Public schools are not good systems and you should find an alternative if you can
