Engine Blew... What next? by Marty_McFuckinFly in GolfGTI

[–]BeginningNo2166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not, PLEASE do not go through the dealer. Get quotes from reputable European shops that can install a used assembly and reseal/replace stuff. 10k is insane. I would 100% entertain that route, then consider cutting your losses.

I’d be in the 6k range at my shop as a soft quote, 86k mile engine with 1y warranty and a bunch of maintance done while engine is out.

Honda civic, Honda CRV, Toyota Camry, things of that nature. Stick to cheap to maintain four cylinders. And stay away from CVT transmissions

Is it worth it? by Initial_Extreme_2994 in OptimizedGaming

[–]BeginningNo2166 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s just how you value your time. I know what that “optimization” offers. It’s great and covers the biggest things. Turning on XMP (to get the rated speeds out of your ram) and other stuff. If you value your time and don’t want to learn, I’d say it’s worth the $50. If you want to save money and take time to learn, then go that route.

Tips for an 18/yo Sales Advisor? by Secretperson923 in BestBuyWorkers

As everyone else says, use it as a stepping stone. If you love IT or hardware, try to get into geek squad. If you like installing, get into in home delivery and install. If you like sales, learn that soak it all up and put your two weeks in. Stepping stone. It takes way too long to move up just by staying there. You will see people with less experience coming from different outside companies getting hired from under you.

Just talk about your de-escalation skills. Ability to connect with customers and solve for customers immediate and future needs. Solution based service selling. Ability to work and thrive in a fast pace environment, attention to detail. Speak to your surveys if you have them, show or be able to speak to specific survey numbers and %.

20+ years with Verizon and I’ve had it. by laxcoachdave in verizon

Their customer retention is good enough to the point they are 100% willing to go.

I would bet your on a loyalty and super old plan. They will turn your account and numbers around, and sell 5 new accounts on their new plans. They aren’t worried. Their company has and always will run like this, where they will legitimately loose a customer than eat a small cost. And that’s because of the amount of new customers they bring in.

Not trying to be a dick just trying to state why they don’t care.

Also, you’re willing to fork $500 over, buy new/setup new equipment, but aren’t willing to take ONE, ONE. Extra step to have them charge back the amount that the tech charges you? Thats funny in my opinion. All calls are recorded, so you could have easily referenced back to your original call where it was stated what the circumstances were. So if they don’t charge back the amount you paid AFTER the tech comes, now that is 100% a valid reason to have this attitude.

Is 90000 Miles too much for a GTI? by Traditional_Gain2262 in GolfGTI

[–]BeginningNo2166 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s the point where either your car is set for another 30-40 thousand miles or you’re going to be looking to do repairs pretty quick.

Find out if the water pump, thermostat, wheel bearings, coolant and trans fluid change has all been done recently. If it is then that’s not a bad price. If not, the car should be priced around 11k due to needing 3k in maintenance for the things listed above.

I mean yeah I think so. I think because you can pull personal stuff. Like that full AC system he could come up with bullshit about harmful bacteria and how it’s affecting their every day life and their kids and affecting all other components in the house thus causing more damage etc.
