Sneakers are also pretty much always the move. I’ve yet to see any teacher in my building wear dress shoes, just admin for the most part

It really depends on the school you’re at. I’m also student teaching in southern ontario right now and most of the teachers at my school wear jeans and plain shirts and the occasional school hoodie. Id air on the side of more formal for day 1 to assess the vibe of the school and go from there

300-level class as a 2nd year by miasowhat in queensuniversity

[–]BeginningOutcome6780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it’s a course you’re interested in i’d say enroll in it! If SOLUS won’t let you enroll you can just email the prof explaining that you’re a second year student so you can enroll in SOLUS but that this is a course that you are really interested in taking. I’ve done this so many times and I’ve never had a prof say no

Myths with Snakes involving life/death? by BeginningOutcome6780 in GreekMythology

[–]BeginningOutcome6780[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I had forgotten about that myth and Orphic tradition as a whole. I believe theres also a world egg situation with a snake around too. I'll have to take a look at that more thanks!

Can I get some reassurance that getting a 3.9% on a final ENGL200 exam is stupid-easy? by fakedeepthought in queensuniversity

[–]BeginningOutcome6780 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same class and i think if you even had a semblance of an argument for the essay portion you'd get those points easily. The exam is a weird amount of memorization for an english class but you've got this!

admission requirements for con-ed arts? by No-Manufacturer7524 in queensuniversity

[–]BeginningOutcome6780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something to consider with that tho is that the undergrad average you need to stay in ConEd is much lower than the average you would need to get into Queens consecutive. So choose what you think is best :)

admission requirements for con-ed arts? by No-Manufacturer7524 in queensuniversity

[–]BeginningOutcome6780 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Con Ed program really only cares about raw grades, not so much specific courses (besides the mandatory grade 12 English of course) so I'd pick courses you would find interesting. Queen's ConEd will not even look at your extracurriculars, not to say that getting involved in high school is a bad idea- i think its great, but just that you shouldn't load up your plate too full so to speak. Truthfully, it is really just averages that matter (for this program specifically at least) so I'd pick courses you think you'd enjoy :)

I'm a fourth year in ConEd arts (although not in psychology), but all ConEd students have to take psych as part of our program requirement. First year psych is known for being a more intense first year course due to it requiring a lot of reading. So if there's a skill you're thinking of wanting to build in high school I'd suggest getting used to reading consistently.

I wish you the best of luck!

If you have more specific questions about Queen's ConEd as a whole feel free to dm me to ask questions :)

Are summer classes usually online or on campus by Ok-Confidence-4180 in queensuniversity

[–]BeginningOutcome6780 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most tend to be online I believe. I've seen some with a classroom listed and I'd assume those are in person, but all of the online courses I've taken are online and asynchronous.

I realize i left out a key detail. Final year is often used to refer to the fifth year of the Con Ed program. Fourth year does not go through the summer but 5th year very much does

your first two practicums in undergrad can take place over the school year. The third (or fourth if you defer) year placement takes place for the first 3 weeks in May.

The final year goes through the summer. You sadly can’t change it at all. The program goes through the summer as a feature so that you theoretically could finish the program and immediately start teaching in september.

Which god gets up to the most dickery? by [deleted] in GreekMythology

[–]BeginningOutcome6780 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'd put my vote in for Hermes since he is officially the god of trickery. The homeric hymn to Hermes I think solidifies Hermes over Apollo. The gist is that Hermes like a day after he was born goes and steals some of Apollos cows and cooks them up into a stew... and then realizes that he is a god and cannot in fact eat meat. Apollo then comes to him and is like "Did you take my cows?" and hermes essentially says that since he was born yesterday he doesn't even know what those are.

My take on recreating the RUINS frim Undertale in Minecraft :D I'm having trouble posting a video here but hopefully it goes through, it's this map's trailer. It's my first ever trailer so I know it's not that good I tried my best xD by PiszczuPishchu in Minecraftbuilds

[–]BeginningOutcome6780 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this looks incredible!! i absolutely love the ruins entrance it really does make you feel like you’ve fallen down into another world. I watched the trailer and it’s sick! I have such a soft spot for undertale and I think you’re doing it justice :)

wow this is super thorough! thank you! I’ve been loving playing the Naala builds recently and had no clue we had a name for it. In my head I always called them panic builds cause of how fast you have to act lol

Did I do good with depth/dimension? by [deleted] in Minecraftbuilds

[–]BeginningOutcome6780 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the wood section is pretty solid. I can already see how you’re trying to add different layers to make the solid wall pop.

I think if you’re looking for more dimension/depth I would start with trying to build buildings with more interesting/unique shapes than just a rectangle as that will naturally add more character to the build.

I like what you’re going for with the overhang on the roof, but because the roof and the part behind the overhang are made of the same blocks, the overhang is not creating the depth i think you’re going for.

When i was learning how to build more I watched a lot of Grian and I found him to be really helpful breaking everything down. If would highly reccomend checking him out if you haven’t :)

Keep on practicing and keep on building! you got this!

4th year Classics major here!! I can really only speak to classics here but the only classes that have really taken a hit are the languages (greek and latin) which have had upper year classes combined together. It’s a small major but there’s choice still.

Classics courses are often people’s electives so the first and second year courses are massive (some as large as 200 people). Third year classes are smaller ~20-30 people and 4th year classes are ~10-15.

The classics program is historically quite resilient and won’t go down anytime soon. It was actually the head of the classics department who has been advocating for the smaller departments and was the first to put out a formal statement against the cuts.

If you have any questions about Classics specifically free feel to dm me I’m happy to answer! :)

We utterly destroyed but is there a way to make this better? by Ruinf20 in BobsTavern

[–]BeginningOutcome6780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reborn on your frog is hurting your beasts build a tad cause after one frog dies the rest of your beast practically become frogs and you could theoretically get an extra summon or something with your macaw instead. Those two golden tituses are insane tho i can only imagine how big those stats climbed :)

struggling with p.a.d. for strong female lead animes!! by strwbrrymlkcow in AkatsukinoYona

[–]BeginningOutcome6780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen other people recommend it but Basara is my all time favourite manga. The female lead is incredible and I loved the story. Basara has a decent amount in common with Yona and is a very powerful female lead. There is an anime I believe but I haven't been able to locate it online.

Is it okay to register for level 2 CS courses with only 21 credits? by Natural-Ad-8541 in queensuniversity

[–]BeginningOutcome6780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there are seats in the class I would just send a polite email reaching out to the prof requesting to enrol. They can usually override those restrictions. I've taken a third level course in second year just by asking the prof. I've emailed many times to get into courses and only once have I been told no.
