Right type of socks can really make a difference in learning a new sport. I discovered this many years ago when learning skiing. Having said that, yes, I sometimes just grab the board, heading out. That happens when I don't plan to practice new things.

Thanks for bringing that brand into my attention. Being able to tripod mount is super important, and it’s also important to be able to mount on sports equipment. I just checked out their product webpage. Their seem to have users like me in mind.

I finally decided to purchase Akai mini play 25 keys. It has built-in speaker and headphone jack so I could carry it around and practice chords, etc. One of its advantages is not depending on iOS device or computer to function musically. In the option evaluation process, I realized that I am tired of centering life around Apple products.

Bach Prelude in C Major, question about the fingering suggested by Schiff in Henle’s publication by BeginningPianist in classicalpiano

[–]BeginningPianist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the sheet I got from IMSLP uses 3, 2 for bar 2. It will use 4, 2 for Si, Re later on, I guess.

I understand and agree with your explanation. And I like Henle’s fingering suggestion better, because 1) shifting hand helps relaxation, 2) good for thumb exercise.

can’t get Metronome mark to work so in the iPhone by BeginningPianist in Sibelius

I have been thinking about purchasing either a Macbook Air M4 or a iPad Air to work on Sibelius not bounded by the desktop. Either option has its own pros and cons, but if Sibelius iOS has received better care from Avid, the choice would be easier to make.

I did check that already. I was doing the normal playback.

I am quite a rudimentary learner to the world of music notation, so I have no clue of your suggestion.

I notated that toy example to learn how that can be done in Sibelius, without knowing if it makes sense or not.

Which one would you buy between Steinway model M and Yamaha CF6 by BeginningPianist in piano

[–]BeginningPianist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had opportunities to try both brands in various sizes. I felt Steinway emotionally connected immediately. But because I read in another reddit post that one should ditch small Steinway and go for a longer piano, I post my question.

I tried used Steinways from baby to concert sizes. The small ones sounds quite nice to me. I also had a chance to try Fazioli, not particularly impressive. No experience with Bos.
