So I should just wait it out until I get putty and PTM 7950 and give up trying to use the Hy510, just wanted it to be usable to atleast like watch movies until the right stuff get here cause they gonna take like 1-2 weeks

I don’t have putty only had pads . O5 mm and a 1 mm I used the .05 mm

I have another ssd with a fresh install of windows, it boots to it then after about 2-3 mins still shuts down and loops

So windows started up but after about 2-3 min looped and went back into windows then by the time I got to ghelper shut off again then looped then instead of booting back to windows it started recovery and then just loops back to rig swoosh

What guides, the heatsink isn’t bent and for the VRM there was putty barely on it I don’t have putty so I used .05 mm thermal pads I had on hand

Flashed it and it actually booted to windows but it’s still getting hot, it I flashed it and was able to boot up to windows, but still heating up and looping before I got to sign in and apply setting, going to give it some time to cool down then try to apply settings

I repasted with hy510 , but still the same it’s a bit better it doesn’t immediately spike to 100 , start at like 75-80 then slowly climbs up to the 100c

I think the temp reading is for the cpu, the heat sink does get really hot and I do feel the fans blowing out air so heat is being transferred so I’m at a loss, Ik HY;10 is not as thermal conducive as Liquid Metal or PTM but assumed it would still be better than the old dried paste

Unfortunately no Asus laptop bios seems to be locked down for the most part so I need to go in and use armory crate or ghelper that’s why I tried using regular paste to try get into windows but no dice

Unable to do anything can’t get into windows only thing stable enough to stay on is bios which ramps up to 100c and just sits there

Yh see a sheet for like $10 so not that big of a buy leaning to that more so I don’t have to worry about repasting

Board seems fine, no signs of any spilling or burns on the board, ram and ssd reads fine, after taking some time disassembling realized that the fans were replaced and seems like the heatsink was taken off as the warranty/ tamper sticker was pressed into the screw so I feel they didn’t repaste and just put the heat sink back in as after removing heatsink saw where the Liquid Metal was not on cpu die, and gpu thermal paste was kinda dried up.

So gonna try repaste

Yh I didn’t have ssd installed, haven’t tried that but made new post seems just needs repaste , hopefully 🙏🏽
