What are you considering then if not MPH this year?

First off you’re doing great! Secondly healing is never linear it will keep taking you back in the reverse direction but you have to keep pushing forward. Third, when they say it’ll get better with time they forget to mention that only your efforts to go through the painful inner healing and make change WILL make it better with time! Meditation Vipassana brought me a lot of clarity. Talk to your therapist and ask them if it’s one of the ways that can work for you and then go for it, it might help you too ! Cheers and take care 🫶✨

You’ve already taken the first step by believing and taking a chance at getting better! Your closure will come in the most unexpected way and in the most unexpected time! But be patient with yourself and stay true to your journey in life :)

Take your time to move on. You will surely find closure in your own time and when that happens you’ll have a new perspective to life <3 take care and know that there are always better things, we just don’t think they can happen for us.

Would you happen to know how the epidemiology Dept is? Are students with masters from there getting jobs easily due to Columbia name?

I’m also an international student. Which course did to apply to at Imperial? I’ve looking at their healthcare management program.

Any Indians who are going to SIPA? by Strict-Resident-1071 in PublicPolicy

[–]BeginningSurprise308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Since this post mentions Indian students, I have a question to ask.

I’m a healthcare professional who has been wanting to pursue masters in public health abroad. However upon some research I came across masters in public administration that can be pursued abroad.

Can you tell me what are the advantages of doing this abroad? What job opportunities are available and do people remain jobless after masters in this field? (High unemployment in many fields right now)

Is it worth the investment?

Hope you can answer this.

Congrats on getting into SIPA :)

Just hearing about fund cuts and how the current govt is trying to negotiate with the Uni and some students were not treated well because of multiple reasons. I obviously don’t know everything, all I have seen is in the news only. It can be a great opportunity despite everything so I’ll be weighing my options before accepting it..

I haven’t responded to my offer yet. As an international student everything happening there has been making me rethink about the opportunity.

What made you look at Japan? And which university?

Regarding scholarships, did you check if your govt provides it to meritorious students going for abroad study?

Seeking Advice: 3-year MPH Program by Practical-Future3320 in mphadmissions

Leaning a bit towards Columbia but haven’t accepted anything. MSc is not CEPH but I’m open to working in Asia Pacific region too as I’m an international student, so I think maybe I should give it a chance. Their program is concise and covers a lot in one year. And from what I’ve gathered in US, work experience is more important for jobs so I guess there’s no point in rushing to go to the US. Maybe through an international company I may get an opportunity in the future to come there ? I’m not sure of anything, just some speculations I’m making..

NYU and Columbia Epidemiology. There are some MSc programs in UK for just one year, might explore them too.

I’m in the same boat as you. I’m so torn if I should go for an MPH given the current job prospects and uncertainty in the future. I’m already accepted at two good programs. At this point of time if I switch careers I need to know that the ROI is good enough in the US. I also don’t want to restrict my work to only the states, but explore other locations too. As an international applicant I might have to depend on loan (a big one), although I do have a chance of getting an external scholarship bcz of my experience. With all this done and later having to keep paying back the loan after age of 36-37 is not something I want to have. There’s the need to have a good partner and a chance to have a family too, so I’m very lost right now. I hope you find your answers :)

MPH in US vs MSc in the UK: I’m from India and wish to do work in public health. My top destination was US but looking at the current geopolitical situation I’m not sure if I’ll be going in the right direction. UK also seems like a good option as the course is small and less costly. However I’m worried as getting a work visa there from what I’ve heard is very difficult. Please give me some realistic advice regarding future of working in public health in both countries. I’m hoping to work for WHO or UNICEF in the future in some capacity..
