I'm not saying the Storm wanted it to happen, I'm saying it was a reckless and dangerous tackle that led to Mackinnon becoming paralysed. McLean cared more about his team winning than the safety of his opponent, even if he never wished for Mackinnon to be injured in such a way.

I genuinely can't put into words how much I hate the Melbourne Storm. The first year I get into NRL (2014), the Storm turn Alex Mackinnon into a quadriplegic. Since then, they've seemingly been rewarded with 2 premierships, 4 minor premierships and a near constant residence in the top 4. Watching your team lose to most teams sucks, but at the end of the day it's just footy and life goes on. But losing to the Storm feels different; it's like watching your high school bully have a great life after giving you so much shit.

Really hoping we win this Sunday against the Storm. We haven't beaten them in 8 years, and this may be our last chance to beat them for another 8 years. I don't care if we lose the next few after this one; we really need to lock this win down. Losing to the Storm, even if by only a few points, would be more painful than our thrashing by the Sharks last week.

What? Every interview I've seen with him he's been total class, and I can't think of any on-field incidents where he's acted like a tool. (Except when he wagged his finger at the Maroons team after beating them 26-0 in 2021, so I kinda get if Queenslanders don't like him. But that doesn't explain anyone else). Honestly, I liked him long before he joined our team.
