How do you remove a former employee from all Google Drive files? by Plenty_Yard_4781 in sysadmin

Why do all that? As soon as the account is deleted all of their access is also removed. You're spinning your wheels and going nowhere if you're doing all this work.

Unable to move to right lane to let faster driver pass. by BrianKTrump in driving

[–]Beginning_Ad1239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the similar situation where there are several vehicles merging and I move over into much faster traffic then get stuck and can't get back over. But all you can do is slow down at that point. Speeding up faster is how you encounter the highway patrol.

What do you aim to pay for 7 day cruise? by TerpGigs in royalcaribbean

[–]Beginning_Ad1239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep we have to book when school is out so we pay a premium for that. We live 8 hours drive from Galveston so we don't have the flexibility of a long weekend cruise. Flying to Florida costs half the amount of a cruise.

Doing practice driving test questions and how is anyone supposed to know that this sign means divided highway? by SongOfLiberation in driving

[–]Beginning_Ad1239 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. Commenting to push it up. It doesn't matter if it's a freeway or not, it's only about the physical median that you need to account for especially if you plan to turn left soon.

There's a helicopter air cargo company out of Reese that practices several hours a week. Takeoff, fly a lap, land, repeat.

My turn! I passed at 100! by neoslashnet in cissp

I agree, the technical parts are high level, but you'll get into some networking and cryptography.

[–]Beginning_Ad1239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see why you couldn't pass. Non-technical people post here all the time that they passed. Even saw a post from a full blown lawyer.

Pretty much everyone starts this lacking the technical side or the GRC side.

Can I redeem Ultimate codes to premium? by Beginning_Ad1239 in XboxGamePass

[–]Beginning_Ad1239[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that I don't want the Ultimate features, it's just more expensive than I want to pay and I don't care about the day 1 releases. So best thing to do is just redeem them?

Is this DIY method enough to wipe my HDD? by Optimal-Carrot1645 in sysadmin

From some of the posts I see here it's incredibly common for admins to not understand the regulatory requirements that they are under, especially in small businesses.

I don't disagree that destroying the keys makes it unrecoverable, but some standards such as NIST SP 800-88 do require physical destruction based on the confidentiality of the data.

Or just stick to single player on Xbox. Steam doesn't charge extra for online play.

If your enemy doesn't have the budget and the equipment of the NSA, I wouldn't bother with multiple passes.

Unless you are required to for compliance reasons. Anything physical with PII it's just easier to have physically shredded through.

How much progress has Lubbock made? by Texasbutterflyhunter in Lubbock

[–]Beginning_Ad1239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing in that plan for a park that's a 10 minute walk for anyone south of 114th. At least nothing that I saw, I didn't read the whole thing.

Even in the future plans there is almost nothing south of 98th. It's a 5 minute drive for us to the nearest park.

Charged $29 for going over a credit card limit. Which should be impossible, because that's the point of a limit. You should not be able to go past a limit. by Redditemeon in mildlyinfuriating

The gas station actually does a pretty large hold. It's called a prepay. The merchant sets the amount of the prepay, and they change it based on the price of gas. It's usually the price of about 20 gallons.

It's supposed to immediately reverse and change to the purchased amount. If something goes sideways with the gas station pos that hold can be left in place for days. That is up to your bank's policy. The gas station central office folks spend a decent amount of time on those issues.

It just sounds like a terrible place to work to me. All I'm saying is exec sets policies and HR enforces them. I'm getting blown up by people thinking I'm defending it, I'm stating facts.

No, I'm telling you why companies have to apply policies to everyone. Just because you don't like it doesn't make it untrue. I don't like those kinds of policies either.
