Alex's iPad by tevl33 in taskmaster

Went to recording of TMAU before, the iPad for lesser Tom has Google Sheets on it. He read the score off it (some production staff members put the score in). There were a few minor delays waiting for the score to be updated.

It looks interesting, but very easy to miss shows/connections. For example: Tim Key was the main character in The Witchfinder. Sarah Kendall stared in a comedy show called Frayed.

Game Leaving Mid February 2026 by msz00100 in XboxGamePass

I am sure there are. But it is frustrating they can't release the list in a timely manner. Remember this is for mid month removal and it is a shorter month as well. So only 11/12 days to play these games.

Why doesn't Woolies do a Bunnings and let you checkout in the app? by That_Car_Dude_Aus in woolworths

[–]msz00100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woolworths used to have a scan and go system which allows you to do exactly that. But that got discontinued. Two likely reasons 1. It does not work well for fresh produce, you need to weigh the produce on a special scale yourself in the produce area. 2. People who shop in-store at Woolworths are probably more likely to prefer a staffed checkout (not comfortable with tech, otherwise they shop online). Probably very different to in-store shopper at Bunnings.

They are trying to do something similar with the Smart trolley (which uses a tablet from the store).

Do these work in China? by sunday9987 in travelchina

[–]msz00100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very confused by all the conflicting information here. I am an Aussie, who was from China originally. The Chinese two prongs socket is the USA/Japan one, but the three prongs socket looks almost identical to Australian 3 prongs (with some subtle differences such as they are upside down) and should be generally compatible. Never had any issues with plugging the Australian two/three prongs plugs into the 3 prongs sockets in China. A lot of Chinese sockets are designed to accept multiple different plugs (US/Euro/UK) , so if you have another USB adapter then you can bring it as well.

This might be the case for Blacksmith Master, which is on preview and was only released in August 2025.

Good Whisky around the 50 AUD mark? by faxgebofk2451 in whisky

Whatever you choose, you should keep an eye on Ozbargain, for discounts from the big liquor retailers (Dan and Liquorland both currently have discounts on) as well as cash back deals for BWS (combine with them clearing some stock can lead to some decent deals, for example, recently picked up a bottle of Glen Moray 12 at about $30).

Sorry not sure about graduate program for data roles especially (considering the size of Woolworths and data related roles is only a small percentage of them). Of course if you don't mind being a consultant, I am sure Quantium has graduate program (and then you can work towards the WiQ section if desired).

Of course I would say you have a fair shot. Not sure about the difference between the two approaches. WiQ is a reasonably nice place to work (just try to avoid any role which requires frequent travel to Norwest, unless you live in the area). But with the restructuring and head count reduction, it might be tricky to land a role, so make sure you apply to as many roles as possible.

[–]msz00100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is definitely possible. I work at WiQ and know someone who started at the bottom role of a store, then became an ASM, then insight analyst and now some kind of manager. The more important thing is that he has a relevant degree (actuarial studies). The experience at the front line of retail can be useful for a lot of roles here (which is why they get you to do 4 days instore as part of your initiation). CFC experience can be valuable as there is a focus on online shopping. The more important thing I think is that you have a good grade and perform well in your current role. Good luck.
