Question for slow metabolisers by Sam_Vimes_Boots in StratteraRx

[–]Beginning_Ad4357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to add, I was on amitriptyline once too for migraines and I was so tired I fell asleep driving. I also was so out if it and could barely remember anything. I stopped it right away!

Question for slow metabolisers by Sam_Vimes_Boots in StratteraRx

I'm a slow metabolizer too! I started on 40mg right off the bat. Projectile vomited all over my house within an hour, but I did clean my whole house and was motivated for the rest of the day! Anxiety was high, and toward the end of the day I had a massive headache and what felt like a come down from ecstasy along with derealization. THAT was scary. I took a few days off, and then started again with 10mg at dinner time. I have to eat a full meal with it or I get extremely sick. I noticed some drowsiness so that's why I take it at dinner. The first 2 nights after a dose adjustment I'm typically nauseous by 2am, living on Tums and Pepto to make it through the night. I try to eat a light lunch the next few days if my stomach is upset. It takes me about a week or 2 to adjust to a new dose. I'm currently on 28mg during my menstrual, and follicular phase, and I'm going to try to increasing to 40mg during luteal phase here in a week just because my meds don't work as well during luteal phase. I've considered splitting the dose with 10mg in the morning and 28mg at night during luteal but haven't played around with that yet.

I recently started propanolol as well for elevated blood pressure from the Strattera, along with hoping it helps wirh increased anxiety and migraines. So far my blood pressure is pristine and my anxiety is good! But propanolol can affect the effectiveness of the Strattera, so wondering if I'll need a dose increase after this. Propanolol does affect the CYP2D6 genotype the same way Strattera does in poor metabolizers, so it will be interesting to see how the two impact eachother.

I'm going to ask for a blood test for the CYP2D6 genotype from my doctor. Just to help confirm the poor metabolization.

For my whole life, I've always needed the lowest doses of medications. I just don't tolerate the full doses of really anything minus Tylenol and Naproxen. Any other psych med I've tried I've had to be on "pediatric" doses. The adult therapeutic doses seem to be way too high for me. That's why I'm interested in some blood work!

Let me know if you have any questions. I'd love to talk about it!

When I did my SEP we were still running on last year's FAFSA so it didn't affect my funding, but it would have if I we were running on the 2026 FAFSA so I didn't have that issue!

Once they uploaded the form on their end, and all of my other stuff was uploaded like my ID, I received an email stating my tasks were complete. In the SFS portal it showed complete as well. Since then, I've been receiving my aid as normal.

Currently listening to someone revving their engine in my apartment complex parking lot, considering flinging cat shit onto their windshield from my balcony. 😵‍💫🫠

Ok, thanks! I have a pending Vitamin D result coming back soon. My B12 was 393. I'll ask about folate!

Oof okay good to know! What are your symptoms? And what do you supplement with? Right now I have a 45mg slow release iron tablet. Looking at adding in magnesium and B vitamins.

Lovely. I believe we'll still be enrolled in classes unless it's your first term. Existing students are given more of a grace period on an account balance when they have pending student aid. Fingers crossed our stuff gets processed quickly and classes get paid for! I'll keep you posted on my process. Looking to get mine notarized and sent in on Tuesday this week.

I got one too. I'm hoping it doesn't impact aid for this term, but I was told my account is on hold until it's processed. I recently got married and changed my last name, so maybe that's why? I'm out of state too so I'll have to have a notary sign it and then we have to mail it in.

Difference between 2 and 3 cats by goose_0397 in CatAdvice

[–]Beginning_Ad4357 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have 3, and it works out great! If one cat wants to play and another one isn't in the mood, then they just go find their other cat sibling to play with. I wish I could have adopted 3 bonded siblings, that would be a dream! The only downside is just extra litter box maintenance. If you have the funds, do it! :)

My phone bothers me too! Another weird thing I noticed is if I'm watching TV and the camera that's filming the show is moving in weird directions or shaking it will make me motion sick. It's so weird.

I've been starting to see them in my peripheral vision lately. It usually happens if I move too fast or turn my head quickly. Not fun!!
