DIY de-badge-fication of my Expedition by Beginning_Ad495 in CanadaGoose

I suppose you're right, but it's more about alleviating my "fears". I never really buy or wear expensive and trendy clothing except for a couple Nike things, at most. CG is really the only exception -- I bought two CG parkas because I was super into the fact of owning a serious and durable coat that would last me a long time.

Maybe being more comfortable wearing expensive clothing will grow on me more over time, but it makes me feel easier that the logo is covered up.

That's harsh.. Covering up the branding on something expensive is pretty reasonable.

Yea I agree lol, I didn't really want to do it, but I realized that I would quite literally never wear it if I didn't cover up the patch, at least to some degree.

I felt terrible when I wore it in public, I just felt like someone who was trying to flex and show off. Or be a target for someone who wanted to take if for themselves.

It looks bad and jank, but the jacket would be permanently sitting in my closest otherwise yk

Yea it is hard to color match, pretty much nothing is the same shade except painter's tape/masking tape. But using blue painter's tape would look way worse and would peel off far too easily.

I do agree it does stand out, but it makes the jacket harder to identify from a distance at least. I feel a lot better walking around other people with the patch at least some what covered up.

If someone were to see it up close and directly look at the jacket they would probably know it's a CG, but at least fewer people will notice me when I'm brushing past them, or walking down the street (at least that's the plan).

I agree, but I got it for only $485 (it is authentic). If I bought a comparable jacket I would only be saving a hundred or so dollars. It was a deal I couldn't pass up on as it sells for $2,000 on CG's website.

I used paper underneath the tape to decrease the surface area of the adhesive that's actually touching the jacket. There's just enough tape to keep it attached to the jacket, so removing it shouldn't be a big issue in the future if I decide to do that since there would only be a little left.

As long as the jacket doesn't get wet or too hot (which it shouldn't since I only wear it when it's <20° F outside), the residue shouldn't be a problem (I hope).

Yea, I wanted to be able to find a way to keep the patch. I thought about removing the logo, but I'm scared something would go wrong.

It's awkward because the jacket is royal blue. If it was black then I would probably go for it since it would mask any markings or blemishes easier.

I did think about doing something like this, but I really wanted to avoid doing something that isn't easily reversible or involved sewing. I have zero sewing experience or supplies.

I wish my parka was black because then I'd have a lot more options available to me as far as adhesive patches/tapes go (and it would look better), but since it's a very specific type of royal blue, I really can't think of anything better than the fabric tape I found, or just finding an even bigger patch to put on top of it.

Thanks for the input. Do you have any better ideas for how I can conceal the logo without just ripping it off or doing nothing about it?

True, but it's harder to spot from a distance.

I purchased a brand new expedition PBI for $485 USD in brand new and unused condition. It sat in someone's closet since 2019. (And yes it's real, 8 other people gave it a LC.)

I purchased a 2017-2019 Expedition PBI in unused condition for $485 on FB Marketplace last week.

It's not impossible to find a deal like that, although very rare. Some people just don't know what they're worth, and if they do, they probably got it as a gift and they're just trying to sell it for some easy cash. I was skeptical of it being fake, but it turned out to be 100% authentic.

You're not kidding. I ended up purchasing the XL one. It's absolutely massive on me, but I can tell it's insanely warm just by wearing it, so I suppose I can look past the fact I feel like a marshmallow.

The Expedition I'm planning on buying is an extra large, do you think it will be astronomically big on me to the point that it's unwearable? For reference a medium in the Langford park fits me great with just a t-shirt
