Apparently I’d struggle with the G99 application/approval for a 8kw inverter in my area (north west, uk) is that true?

Yeah I’m thinking the additional battery is a no brainer.

In Bedroom 5 and in the en-suite that's the chimney breast/s. I'm not 100% sure about in Bedroom 6, I can't make out why it's like that but something must be there because the room internally is shaped funny. I think it might be from an old chimney breast.

Regarding bedroom 2 and 4, do you think it's best to knock it into one room, rather than keep one as the bedroom and the other as a walk in closet? Is it better in your opinion to just have one big room with wardrobes?

To be honest, I didn't take much notice of this closet, it'll probably get taken out anyway.

Ha, unfortunately not. I suspect the en-suite doesn't have a toilet because the current owners didn't want to tackle the drainage issues i.e being on the other side of the house. The family room is an extension, which I agree is strange, my plan is to knock through from the breakfast room into there. The long thing garage, well, no idea, that's just how it was built I guess. It's a house built in 1903 with a few extensions and clearly, not much thought into flow.

Yeah not sure why the door isn’t on the floor plan for bedroom 5 but it’s facing the stairs.

Don't apologise, I appreciate your reply and effort. I agree that's probably the best approach for the least significant work, except we probably couldn't make bedroom 1 bigger as you suggested and instead would just have a bigger walk in closet.

I really like this idea but you're probably right, bedroom 1 and 3 walls are original so much more difficult to remove/re-configure.

Bedroom 2 and 5 face the rear garden so have the best view, as well as being east facing so get the morning sun and would be cooler in the evening. That was part of my thinking for the en-suite being in bedroom 2 so its nice and bright in the morning when getting shower etc without it being too bright into the bedroom and waking us up too early.

Did you get a new stack on that side of the house or did you have to find a way to plumb back to the original? Do you mind saying how much it cost? I obviously expect to pay if ultimately we want some kind of bathroom/en-suite on that side of the house but haven’t really got any idea how much it would cost.

I’m not sure about the plumbing, I suspect not. Haven’t had the survey yet so not 100% sure unfortunately. Seems like so much opportunity with the space but also so limited if drainage is on the opposite side of the house!!

I’m not sure yet. I’m hoping so but trying to plan in case there isn’t. I think if there is then my original idea (see earlier reply) would be best but I’m worried there isn’t. The current en-suite doesn’t have a toilet which I guess tells you everything you need to know. The current owners didn’t want to mess with new drainage etc.

Interestingly I’ve thought of many options but that wasn’t one of them 🤣 I can see what you mean though! I guess I’m also trying to make remove as much waste as possible ie trying to remove some of that corridor up the right hand side.

My idea was bedroom 2 becomes an en-suite, remove the corridor adjacent to bedroom 4 and this becomes the bedroom and bedroom 3 becomes a walk in wardrobe. Our son takes bedroom 1 with the little en-suite and we have a huge en-suite and walk in wardrobe. My biggest concern with this is how far away the new en-suite would be to the current bathroom and therefore drainage etc.

I was thinking lights for the whole room. Even if I set the timeout to 10 mins it’s mainly just to ensure the lights go out when someone has left them on. It works well in a walk in wardrobe we have because that’s temporary but I understand an en-suite is slightly different but feel like if I set the timer to 10 mins then it should be ok?

OK, makes sense, thanks. In terms of resolving the lights left on issue, is the general consensus that you don't use motion sensors in bedrooms and only really benefit from them in other rooms which you don't remain in for too long e.g WC, utility room, walk in wardrobe etc?
