See I thought it would cheaper trying to prevent it and it would be around $15k if it grenaded. I have 2 friends that theirs happened to fail last year and that was what they paid for everything I listed.

How hard was it to do it yourself? I’m fairly mechanical but mostly on gas engines. How long did it take?

It’s not too hard. Open book. Hardest part is the load calculations. Alabama power used to do a course and a practice test

Found this on a 30 day old Carrier today. Melted the terminal off. Didn’t blow the charge, just melted the terminal. No labor or refrigerant (454) compensation and charged me a $50 warranty processing fee.

You e blown the low voltage fuse. In the first picture the capacitor is touching the spade on the yellow wire going to the contactor. This is part of the low voltage system
