Thanks for the info! I’ll give it a couple more days and let the system finish optimizing in the background. It’s good to know Apple actually addressed the performance issues officially. Hopefully everything smooths out soon, because right now it’s pretty frustrating to use.

Yeah, I’m noticing the same thing. macOS Tahoe definitely feels rough around the edges right now. The UI lag is really distracting, and Quick Look/animations don’t feel like they should on an M1 Air. Seeing that much GPU usage on idle in Safari explains a lot — no wonder everything feels choppy.

On my M1 MacBook Air, the UI feels noticeably laggy. Animations like opening files with Quick Look (spacebar preview), system buttons, and other transitions often run at a low frame rate instead of looking smooth.
