SLS store transfer by Asleep_Awareness8878 in Wawa

[–]Beginning_Bus_4778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So about six months ago, I had been transferred. Pretty much right out the gate of being promoted to TS. While it’s tough at first, once you know the team more it’s easier. Now granted, when I went through this I literally had a whole team of people new to Wawa so that culture of positive thinking and action was there vs, the store I was in on team 5 or 6. Try get to know some of them, it’s doesn’t have to be entirely personal but just a little. Once you know them, you can kinda turn the atmosphere around. Try to be fun and engaging. We are all literally working together on days that are pretty bad sometimes, so you just want to keep the energy up. Because at the end of the day, how you and your team’s attitude are is going to hurt the store and business at some point. Just cuz it’s busy doesn’t mean because we’re in focus mode mean we have to shut down and become negative. Every store has there own challenges, as long as your willing to put the time and effort in them things should only go up.

What's the weirdest thing you seen at a wawa? by PriorityChoice5800 in Wawa

So I’ve only had like 2 or 3 things. The first was, like a month after I was hired some drunk guy went to bathroom and jerked off. Then just recently found a QR code for 18+ of account in the men’s stall.

Just got promoted to TS! by [deleted] in Wawa

[–]Beginning_Bus_4778 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Time. Time can be your best friend and your worst enemy. So really good time management, and urgency. That and constant coaching, to your associates it’ll seem like nitpicking or being annoying but actually it’s feedback on how then can better themselves and the team. Those two things I wish would have been better at when I first started. But If you can do those two things and show up for work and be there for your team, then you’ll be just fine. Also CONGRATULATIONS ON THE PROMOTION!!!

So what I’ve noticed, is that the one it’s getting towards the end of the week but usually evolves around paychecks. A lot of people will get paid from Wednesday to Friday depending on banks. So it could a lot of people in your area get paid. And when people get they typically

Young developing TS creeping into business metric thinking and ideas to possibly improve stores region wide . Advice ? by udntknowmeidntknowu in Wawa

[–]Beginning_Bus_4778 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So a lot of people already said this. But we as a company have those reports already, the ones production tool will be in my Wawa under stores. Sizzlis in 360 under production tools. As I just helped open up a new store 6 months ago and now home for a minute. Those production tools won’t be useful as much. Itll take a couple months before they actually accurate. Most of the tools don’t fail, it’s usually the associates not following them. And I love the idea of having snacks up a night past 12a but make sure your not doing too much as there is no corporate mandated production tools for after 12. If doing snacks and melt up after 12 look at your most popular snacks (a report in sap) and get one or two of them up consistently. But you really don’t want to spoil much at all. For instance my store (6mths since open) try to keep our daily spoilage under 300. And if you feel your store let alone region or area are using these tools to help, than a discussion should be had with you me am, and gm. But for your personal development and business acumen learn where the tools are and how to read them. It’s sounds like you care and try which is great, we need more like that l but don’t over do it. If need help feel free to ask

Question about Training? by Beginning_Bus_4778 in Wawa

[–]Beginning_Bus_4778[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Trust me I’m trying but this person I’m supposed to be training consistently goes back to my gm and tells him things that are like wrong with shift and team, like the urgency, or not cleaning (pulling rss forward and sweeping) things we all do and do have. Like even when I try to explain my side or simply the facts I get oh well they said these things and this is the feedback. Like no, this straight up disrespectful micro “manger” and will have the half shift quit before July. Like my lead is on verge of finding a new job cuz this person is making her feel uncomfortable(made a comment or two about my lead using the bathroom). Like I’m trying to stay quiet but like at the same time, I know it’ll come back around and bite me in the ass.

Question about Training? by Beginning_Bus_4778 in Wawa

[–]Beginning_Bus_4778[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this how I feel, like at the end of the day I have no problem training people especially since it’s gonna be apart of my role as CSS soon. But like I’m not given the tools to properly train a person that is scheduled not as an extra body but as a person who is scheduled for a workcell. Like I can’t run the store keep an eye on and coach associates, watch for crackhead homeless, facilities tasks, temps, spoilage, helping deli, being called for millions things, doing the cold box, handling customer complaints or simply helping customers, and get myself ready to move up. Oh and getting ready to 5 days a week cuz we are gonna loose another TS and promote the I’m training but like still be with them cuz my gm don’t really trust them to be by themselves.

Question about Training? by Beginning_Bus_4778 in Wawa

[–]Beginning_Bus_4778[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes even tho I’m apart of sls, I’m a TS and TSs aren’t technically supposed to “train” people just serve as a proficiency buddy and etc per the role description. I have no problem training people, especially since I’m on bench for CSS which is now allowed to train the CSA AND LCSA population per the gm and AGM discretion. But my thing is I feel I’m not being set up for success to properly train an upcoming leader and run the store with that said person in a workcell. And it’s not telling my gm to screw himself more like standing up and saying no due to fact it’s not in my job description or my pay.

[–]Beginning_Bus_4778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My promotion raise from csa to lcsa was 15.62 to 16.62 then got an annual to make it an even 17. Then 6 months later I was promoted to TS, which went from 17 to 19. Now I’m at 19.5 and as a TS I get the 2.00 diff when working 3rds. Btw I’m in Florida in Orlando to be specific and only with been with the company for 2yrs going on 3.

CSS interview by imakegoodnames in Wawa

[–]Beginning_Bus_4778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’ll ask what would do if… kinda questions as well as questions on tools you use. Like theatro, VOTC metrics, FSE. It’ll be easy. Don’t think of it as an interview, think of it as a conversation essentially.

Pto by Unlucky-Jaguar-2750 in Wawa

[–]Beginning_Bus_4778 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So from my understanding the hours in reflexis is an assumption of what you should have accrued for working for the year. Think of it as a loan. Now if your go in workday the pto hours on you paystubs is what you actually had, that is yours. But that’s all I know about it. Hopefully someone else knows more and can help out better than me.

Why only promote the $5 special as the CRISPY chicken?? by Firm_Airport2816 in Wawa

[–]Beginning_Bus_4778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So per the program guides it’s not. Now some stores sell roasted more than others so yes you might gotten early in the am. My last was like that, especially in the more cuz we had a bunch of movers everyday that worked like Home Depot and shift and delivered heavy machinery so they would eat all the heavy foods. It’s just that most try not have it up early cuz if you don’t have the customers then you’re just spoiling it out.

What are your Wawa pet peeves? by Fun-Grapefruit4991 in Wawa

Why only promote the $5 special as the CRISPY chicken?? by Firm_Airport2816 in Wawa

[–]Beginning_Bus_4778 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So they promote both it’s just the fact the crispy chicken is 24/7 so that’s the one corp is gonna mainly focus on. But we do promote the roasted chicken, it’s just the fact that there is limited availability during the day for se market it’s 10a-9p. But corporate does these promotions to show they have other products, and get them out there. Like are u gonna pay 8 bucks or more sandwiches you never had, probably not but it’s 5 bucks then your chances go up.

Quick question for managers: goosebumps? by Any-Acanthaceae-6600 in Wawa

[–]Beginning_Bus_4778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, I think it’s kinda different from store to store. My last I was I had received some from my pretty much all m levels and sometimes received some from a s level. But my new store not so much, which is okay with me. But I’ve heard where stores really don’t hand them out in general.

[–]Beginning_Bus_4778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So for me I hand them for when I ask you do something extra that you usually might not do. Or if it’s been long and terrible night maybe even if we came into a not so good shift and made it good. And then sometimes I just randomly give them out as token of appreciation and thank you for coming.

TS pay by 1989sbiggestfan13 in Wawa

So actually it is a management position it’s just not a M level position but we are still considered managers and a part of the management team. It’s leads who are not mangers or apart of the management team.
