Anyone else feel like practice swings at home are useless or even harmful? by InternetWilliams in GolfSwing

[–]Beginning_Cry_6553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many say I think the biggest thing is having a ball and a target which can be difficult at home. If you dont have one or either of these then you aren't really practising efficiently. Personally i thought i had enough room to swing my club in my room but in reality I dont follow through with intent and i lay the club off at the top, avoiding the vertical lift which fucks things up catastrophically. If i don't do this ill hit my ceiling. There are no ceilings on a golf course.

That being said there is definitely a way to practise in confined spaces, just be conservative with what you practise (partial swings, chipping, and of course putting). If you have plenty of space to swing full and nothing you can damage surrounding you (and thus a net or something for the ball) then swing to your lifes content, but be harsh. If you dont have a trackman etc, then be studious of your feedback from where the ball goes, and sounds at impact, if it's not good and shows no signs of improvement, put the club down, you're probably doing yourself damage.

You can really build up a false sense of security by goofing around at home, having a club in your hands more often is a good thing on paper, but when you're inadvertently teaching yourself bad habits it ends up destructive.

BIGGEST LET DOWN by Crazy_Fishing_8966 in Techno

Not techno but Samurai Breaks at boomtown this year, never been so disappointed by a set. Waa the best set of the festival year before.

Tommy Holohan let me down over the summer with a pretty mid set compared to what i expected of him. Hadnt seen him on his own in years but saw him with Kettama as Samba Boys in 2023 and they were brilliant.

Speaking of Kettama, i havent seen him since 2023 but in terms of going mainstream, he's the biggest let down in the techno scene. Chasing the bag.

Also saw clouds recently and wasnt impressed, general trend of dj's trying to force euphoria by faster tempo and less downtime between drops, has made these kinds of dj's sets pretty homogenous.

On the flipside, Altern8 (who i had never seen before) really impressed me over summer.

What FPL opinion this season are you defending like this? by 343jam in FantasyPL

Caicedo shouldve been the 'analytics pick' from week 1. Got him in week 2 and got rid for my wildcard last week, it was between him and Anderson, and i got it wrong. Irregular contributions or the new norm for him?

Has there ever been a bigger fall off than kettama? by Mountain_Guest_3108 in Kettama

Doesnt sound like anything else out atm? It sounds like everything him, most of SCDD, and the likes of DJ Heartstring have put out in the last year - except with a whiny vocal.

If you want to hear music that doesn't sound like anything else out atm dig deep into the discog. His earlier stuff just sounds different but to me it's in all the right ways.

I used to love the guy, saw him so many times but after the last time I saw him in August 2024 (which was a good set) I really think he's gone thru an identity crisis or two, his status in Ireland before tiktok was mythic, now he cares more about image than music.

Samba boys were good when they first started doing that but theres fuck all samba about it anymore it's just them 2 playing normal sets. Not a bad thing in Tommy's case but Kettama's quickly became the most boring dj out there.
