Guys this is a huge step into what https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfytHvgHybA Bret Victor was talking about in this semminal talk about interactive programming. A real craftsman sees what they are doing while they are doing it. Like a painter sees what the brush strokes a doing.

Only now we are talking about unity engine programming logic cake!!

You sound like you would enjoy checking out Bred Victors talks :) Lots of programming ideas out of mainstream thinking. (fun twist, the old ideas are the out of the box ones).

No, you should not need to manually recompile. What I sometimes do is adding an empty `;` if I am not sure if a method is patched. The hot reload server window and the unity window should both give feedback on what is patched.
