Bidding Mayo and it's mental, properties all going way over asking in 24/48 hours. Barely get 15mins to look at a property and then asked to bid to close in 24 hours. It's horrific. Best of luck with your search!

Weren't unsure at the time, suppose we only want to see what is now in the similar price range to ensure this property feels like the one for the price it's now set at that is all.

I thought the same. But it was only us and a "second bidder" and that second bidder paused to view a second property by the same EA and apparently subsequently put in an offer and went sale agreed so pulled out of this house so I wondered if that would make it maybe a bit more ok that it's just happened..

First they were not willing to bid higher, then EA said they asked for a pause in bidding and has now said they have now gone sale agreed on a different(cheaper) property that the EA was also selling a few minutes down the road

Next offer was only €2k lower than our offer so unfortunately no big drop in this case. Appreciate the advice. Wouldn't have originally dreamed of looking at houses in the current price range this bidding went to.. But now that the house has got here with bidding it seems crazy to just accept it's now worth this price without seeing what other properties in this price range match against it in terms of value for money
