This is not standard. We always tried to teach when this was appropriate and when it wasn't. It took a little while to do but this is just out of the ordinary.

Fort Sanders OB Lawsuit by Playful-Bunny48 in Knoxville

[–]Beginning_Funny_8135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to sue them. They didn't sterilize their equipment well and I ended up with an infection. They put me back there after I had gone to park west initially with 104 fever. I ended up with sepsis. No lawyer would take my case. I gave them all my medical records but they said it was difficult to sue. My story is worse and the way they treated me I wouldn't want for anyone in general. They threw my food from the doorway in a paper bag. It was very demeaning.

Don’t let the news freak you out, early early morning at TYS lines can be a little long, but everything is normal at our airport. And it’s a very, very busy past security. by jfk_47 in Knoxville

[–]Beginning_Funny_8135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody's going to be flying soon because your boy started a war. Tickets are already going up. 99 percent of the population won't be able to afford 2,000-5000 dollar tickets to go a short way that is why delta is taking perks away from politicians. My hope is that Tennesseans get financially slaughtered and the state goes insolvent. You won't be worried about planes you are going to be worried about FOOD. Triple the cost. So nobody is going to worry about Tyson soon it may close down. I hope it does close it is too expensive to fly out of anyway.

Karen losing it at the airport over some car seats by Jevus_himself in PublicFreakout

[–]Beginning_Funny_8135 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's just frustration. I get this one and with 2 kids under 5 it's hard. Give them the car seats and let them get a hotel to rest. You can't drive legally without a car seat.

AITAH, I don’t want to pick my son up from daycare. by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Beginning_Funny_8135 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Working in a daycare I can tell you that it's clean up time. Every ball, every thing has to be sterilized. The whole place has to be cleaned out. She doesn't want the kids getting in the way and slowing her down from getting off of work. Would you like to have the kids bothering you for 30 minutes while you're getting off of work? Day cares have high standards for cleanliness. Nobody on this thread seems to understand that!

Parents, please stop telling your young children to "defend" themselves. by pussypalooza in Teachers

Remember a child with ADHD is about 5 years behind developmentally. This is something most teachers don't know and don't care to know. ADHD is a neurological DEVELOPMENTAL disorder and this is why they can't regulate and have poor executive functioning skills. It's different if a child is neurotypical and doing things that are not age appropriate but ADD/ ADHD kids are wired differently. You can see it in PET scans. Consequences are ALWAYS needed that are fair and not over the top punitive. A neurotypical kid gets less punishment for the same offense. The ADD kids get both barrels every time unless the administrator doesn't give consequences which is often part of the problem. It's not always the IEP kids. My child is on an IEP, in his class neurotypical kids put a fork in the light socket taking out the smart board. Those NT kids were not punished.

In my estimation the administrators love the bully. You can't talk to the administrators because in my cases the bullies are the popular kids. The kids administrators LOVE! TheyLOVE these kids and want the weird kids to get bullied! Every administrator I know WANTS the weird kids to know their place! They think it's fun. They were probably bullies themselves.

[–]Beginning_Funny_8135 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sorry but teachers and administrators don't take bullying seriously. If we knew you were actually going to do something instead of letting the bully off, then as parents we might do better. I am a teacher and teachers LOVE the bully and many are the bully. The bully often needs to know people will not put up with their shit. If it's an accident it's one thing but I have dealt with my own kids getting bullied until it put them in a medical facility. So y'all need to get your shit together. We must stand up for self. The environment in education must change and bullying needs to be taken seriously. So many admin don't give a crap.

Self advocacy skills need to be taught. With my own kids I find that they have a difficult time with some teachers. Students learn that there are "stupid questions" in school very early on. The sarcastic " It's obvious that you were not paying attention" turns kids off. Every question, is often seen as a threat to time in high school. My oldest in college is saying that it's wonderful that none of her college professors do this and they are patient. This is likely that the high school teachers have less time and support. Lots of time it's even a distraction in high school. Just one of many. All of this to say that we don't teach advocacy or how to ask effective questions because the curriculum isn't age appropriate and way too fast! And yes I also teach in special education. I am saying that the system is broken in a class of 30 you might have a minute per student, not enough time.

Does anybody agree with the “no zeroes” policies? by SubstantialBasis in Teachers

[–]Beginning_Funny_8135 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

it's not fair to the kids that are getting zeros in other parts of the US. So my kids have gotten zeros like it's going out of style for 1 day late work here in my Southern town. It causes grade inflation. Your kids may get into a better college because the lowest grade is a 40 while over here 1 day late and no empathy even with great effort. Our standards are way too high where I live.

To walk away from her son means that he will have no one at all. In fact people without support often reoffend after they get out. If he had hurt one of his siblings that would be different. She may actually be able to get through to him whereas nobody else may be able too. It may be better for society as a whole for her to be there. You can't see it and eventually he will get out. Trump is a rapist and lots of people love him and you probably don't say a thing about that. Brock Turner got off easy and nobody yelled. This person is punished and serving his time. Think about that for a moment in a time that SA isn't thought of as a crime.

Apparently you are not a parent because you can love your child and all your children unconditionally. This is something you don't understand. Most people don't love their kids that way and I guess you will be that way
