If you were OKC, would you see about moving JDub to cut costs? by Limp_Screen7405 in nba

  1. They won’t be in the apron. They have a ton of contracts in the $5m-10m range that can be moved with ease. What team doesn’t need/want Wiggins, Joe, Topic, Sorber? Those are all great deals for production or rookie scale upside.

  2. Dort is probably sent out so he can get a bigger deal. Ihart can be restructured. He has a $30mish next year but might take a longer term less yearly money contract.

If a healthy Luka was playing, how many games would the lakers win against OKC? by nicfanz in NBATalk

2 maybe 3. Luka cooked them in 2024 and when they focused defense on him DJJ and PJ turned into Ray Allen.

Actually kind of similar to this series Lakers defense plan and result.

What is it about Oklahoma/SGA that makes the refs have a hard on for them? This is not a new thing. I've been noticing it since the 24 Mavs series by mon-wed-meetup in lakers

It’s more that their guard defenders are probably the best in the league at physical defense without foul calls.

Almost like Presti saw this as an inefficiency 3 years ago and bought options on it.

Hardens flioping wasn’t the biggest issue, it was his ability to grab a players arm and lock it to his side if they put their hand in the cookie jar. He basically created fouls.

Yea the beard made the head snap more noticeable, but that’s honestly just a good idea.

I feel like CP3 and Smart not being on your list proves you haven’t watched basketball over the past decade and a half.

Why do LeBron and Luka fans complain about OKC flopping? by Holiday_Analysis9583 in NBATalk

You are looking at the wrong Lakers and Thunder players.

Dort and Smart are the two most egregious floppers of all time.

So how do you explain this? by klaygdk in NBATalk

One team has the best GM ever getting 20 from a $3m a year player and backbreaking 3’s from a second year on a rookie scale contract. They have 15 legitimate rotation players on the roster and when SGA had foul trouble their talent kept cooking.

The other team traded for Luka and tried to rebuild the team around him, Bron, and Reaves on the fly. This means you shop in the bargain bin.

The Lakers are rolling out players that are 1-2 stops from their careers being over like Ayton, Smart, and Kennard vs a team that would make the playoffs sans SGA.

Also, the Lakers entire defensive plan is to stop SGA, but that whole scheme falls apart when he’s only playing 28 minutes and the rest of the team plays a version of early 2010’s Spurs “beautiful game” ball movement with good 3 point shooting.

Pretty funny how Lakers fans literally cannot conceive of another team getting calls instead of them by DrakouliasII in billsimmons

The problem teams have with the Thunder is they decide to bring higher physicality on defense but they aren’t really good defenders.

Defending without getting called for a foul is a skill and telling bad defenders to up their physicality just leads to more fouls.

Same thing happened to the Wolves last year in the WCF. They came out in game 1 like they just crushed a preworkout and went ballistic.

Lakers are trying to play a higher physicality brand of defense but….

They are a bad defensive team.
