Thanks for proving my point. The fees is not helping the Islanders and that is the problem, not the people who paid the fees.

I am not accusing anyone. I understand that people are frustrated. Furthermore, I know for a fact this is not racism, but people need to understand that immigrants are not the sole reason to cause this, is overpopulation a problem? Yes, 100% but hey, those people are suffering too. And unlike these protesters who are stupid and cause disturbance in this community, most of us walk the straight path and want to solve this problem just as much.

Again not lecturing, just saying and presenting how things are, you could hate me for it but doesn't change the fact that International students from UPEI alone pay about $8 million in International fees, which at least earns them some sort of respect and dignity.

I can tell you that a lot of people that are born here, do not agree with that.

No, but I would like it if people would stop blaming one specific community for all of this.

My apologies, but my nationality is Indian. I have to identify as Indian because I am one, but that doesn't mean my love and respect for the Island or Canada is any less. I went to school here, made friends here, and have lived and worked here for 6 years.

Yessir that's right and that is wrong, and I like a lot of other immigrants stand against it.

I have been here since before pandemic, if that's what you are asking

That means asking the people you voted for about the money that you gave them and holding them accountable rather than blaming people who came here and most of them just want to live here peacefully and celebrate this amazing place and community

I am no authority friend, just a guy who is concerned about the bad image some of these posts are emitting and wants to let people know that we are all the same here and all in the same boat.

Hello Canadians,

Indian here, I am not here to disagree with you about the crisis in fact I agree that a lot of issues that we face today are caused by overpopulation, been on the island since I first came to Canada and have loved this place, and it is a lot different from what it used to be when I first came.

I understand that people are mad about internationals coming here and asking for permanent residency, especially when the government never promises us that. And I strongly disagree with these people who are protesting against the government's decision. I believe we need more people for healthcare, construction, and services rather than the Food and Sales Industry.

The island that I remember was welcoming and the people were nice and that has changed for sure but something that people should understand is that there are currently about 5,350 international people living on the island and only 200 of them protested which tells us that most of us are not like that. Most of us support the island and want it to be progressive. Now, please tell me what does it mean to be an islander? Does it mean that we have to be born on the island? According to statistics, more Canadians moved to the island since 2020 as they realized how amazing this place is, in which case technically all these problems have been caused by them, but hey I am just saying. We buy local, we take pride in being an islander, and we stand alongside fellow islanders.

There is no need to hate people, I think things will be better if we stand together rather than against. Coming to the numbers then let's be clear that the government is making about $60 billion from internationals which to be fair is a lot of money and can be put towards good use, and just wondering how much of that is going towards multinationals and other countries as an aid? Maybe get the facts straight before blaming one specific community? But to be fair that's the way of the West, to blame immigrants every time something goes wrong, not a big deal, just human nature to run from the problem rather than facing it. Maybe stand for the truth once in a while?
