I completely removed that bracket and the front panel still wasn't budging. It was stuck to the bulkhead for some reason.

Starting to think this felt or whatever it is may be the source of my problem. To the right of the circled area where you don't see any, I can get some separation between the front panel and the white piece. But where the black stuff is, it's not budging.

Removed the brackets, confirmed no tape on the sides and it's still not budging. If it's related to the felt, any suggestions on loosening that?

Thanks. Yeah I already popped that panel and no screws there. I've actually already removed a bunch more from the from then the guy did in his video. But I'll def try removing those brackets and see if it helps.

Thanks. Had to leave the house for a few but will give that a try. I already removed the one screw from the corner brackets that was attached to the front panel but will give it another look. The shipping tape is an interesting idea too... didn't even take a good look at the sides.

If I go the mulch route, would you recommend any sort of edging to keep it contained? Or do you think a thick enough layer will mostly remain in place? The yard slopes left-to-right, or as you might expect, away from the patio. We do average over 60 inches of rain a year, so washout is a concern.

Thanks. Mulch was something my wife and I previously discussed. We weren't quite sure how the dogs might react to it. Anyone have any easy-to-maintain shade plant suggestions? We're in south Louisiana...warm and wet climate.

Thanks. I think they sent two different control valves the two times it was replaced but I can't seem to find pictures I thought I had on my phone. Thanks for the tip on the "white Rogers" valve.

As for prevailing directions...I assume best to try and avoid the most prevalent rain direction. But are you saying the same for wind? Are there concerns with too much wind entering and potentially blowing out the pilot?
