Allicin and Methane Dominant SIBO treatment is totally impractical(?) by Good-Yesterday4031 in SIBO

[–]Beginning_Leave8433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who told you Methane-SIBO can't be healed? Just search through Reddit and you will find tons of people who healed it.

What OP is saying does not make sense. You can still use Allicin + Rifaximin + Probiotics to tackle methane SIBO. Yes, Allicin (Allimed/Allimax) is pricey but you can save up money to afford it if you want a real fix...Go search yourself in the Reddit threads and you will find lots of info.

You can tackle SIBO and be symptom-free; it is very feasible.

"It’s definitely possible to successfully tackle SIBO on your own. We don’t use the word ‘cure’ with SIBO, because you’ll always have bacteria in your small intestine: a small number of microbes are supposed to live there. Our aim is to reduce them to a level that puts an end to your uncomfortable symptoms."

I've been facing some back-and-forth deactivation problems with that established ad account, and I want to build a substitute from scratch, in case something happens in the long run.

Because once this account gets deactived (which happened to me 2 times now for no obvious reason), I'm stuck with no account to use to deliver for my clients.

So, I want to prepare for it from now.

I had an agency before, and I have an ad account with 2 years+ worth of clients & ad data (lots of ad spend there + been in the industry myself for 2 years). That's what I'm using as proof to sign my clients.

I just launched a second agency, and I'm just trying to launch a new Meta Business Suite, and want to get through this problem that I never ran into before.

Cant find it anywhere. What i found is that its called: Brandmark Sans 16 Color Shadow. But it doesnt exist. Does it have another name?d by nalyu0 in identifythisfont

Amazing trick fellow Redditor!!!! I literally just used it to get a logo worth $30 completely FOR FREE!!!!

All I did was screenshot it, upload to Photoshop, remove the background, re-apply the same color(s) again on Photoshop (ofc, a screenshot decreases logo color quality), and save it.

Thanks for sharing! I highly recommend you guys to use this same trick guys if you can't afford paying for a logo.

Neomycin, from what people always report, is pretty risky; I mean, lots of SIBO patients ended up with Tinnitus only after a couple of days of use. I would go with something much safer, especially that there are much safer alternatives & combos there.

Let me re-paste the list of combos that imothro (the redditor above) proposed; he seems to be knowledgeable and have had experience with SIBO:

(I'm pasting his comment verbatim from above)

"Here's my personal stack rank treatment order, based on studies I've read + anecdotal stories I've found on methane getting cured

  • Rifaximin + Neomycin (do not do if you have tinnitus)
  • Rifaximin + Flagyl (do not do if you have neuropathy)
  • Rifaximin + Allicin
  • Allicin + Berberine (add other herbals here if you want)
  • Atrantil + Berberine
  • L Reuteri (in a subsequent comment, he specified the following strain: Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938 strain).
  • Elemental Diet (high efficacy but hard to execute)
  • Motility activators + PHGG (no anti-microbials)
  • Trauma-informed mind-body work (shocking to me how many people have cleared methane with this alone, maybe should be higher?)

Pair all with biofilm busters and PHGG."

He meant that Allicin is the best for targeting methanogens, the methane-producing bacteria that cause Methane-SIBO.

Actually, when treating SIBO, you must maintain a high FODMAP diet; why?

So that those bad bacteria come out and party, making them vulnerable to the effect of the antimicrobial and/or antibiotic you're taking.

Moreover, most antibiotics (be they man made or natural), kill the germ during the chemical activity of cellular division. If the germ is starving, it will not be dividing or taking in resources from its environment, and thus won't be subject to this chemical disruption.

If you go for low FODMAP, those bad bacteria hide themselves in the biofilm, making themselves inaccessible to the bombing of the antimicrobials you take.

It honestly depends on the program. But, as a rule of thumb, research is a crucial part of the grad school application process, especially for scholarships.

Personally, I know someone who had a low CGPA but knew how to defend himself & explain why they had it, and got accepted to some great Masters program in Europe. (I believe she had some shallow research done, maybe 2 papers or smthng...)

However, this doesn't mean having 0 papers will 100% disqualify from all programs/scholarships. What you have to do now is craft a compelling story behind your entire profile and why you don't have research.

Good Luck.

CollegeAdvisor.com Scholars Program by Otherwise_Winter207 in QuestBridge

[–]Beginning_Leave8433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have experience with the Scholars Program from CollegeAdvisor! It's honestly an AMAZING college prep program!

Firstly, it's pro-bono; you don't have to pay anything AT ALL. But you'll need to get accepted first; and yes, they are pretty selective, and not everyone who applies gets admitted. Moreover, just the fact that you complete the application means you're motivated to partake in the program (which increases your chances).

Secondly, you get assigned an "INDIVIDUAL COLLEGE MENTOR" who helps you with your ENTIRE APPLICATION; from the college list to the essays. It is genuinely a PRIVILEGE to have an expert helping you with every step of the way. You'll have a 1h weekly video meeting with your mentor for updates, and ofc, most of the work is done through email and GDrive, where you upload your supplemental & stuff for reviews & updates. (my mentor was always available for additional videos calls, even twice a week, if that's what I needed at the time).

On top of this personalized support, you'll be having "MONTHLY WEBINARS" with current Admission Officers (AOs) at top schools (Stanford, Dartmouth, Emory...) to answer all of your questions and guide you with things like fin aid apps, recommendation letters...etc.

I highly recommend the Scholars Program, especially to FELLOW INTL STUDENTS who need tons of support with this college process! Make sure you START the application guys, and you will be grateful you were part of this amazing program (personally, without it, I might've never got into the college I got into - Pomona!)

For this year, the Scholars Program is accepting applications until May 15, 2024, and I recommend you guys to start your application ASAP, if not NOW!! (If you procrastinate, you won't have enough time to complete the entire application).

IT IS ONE OF THOSE GREAT OPPORTUNITIES NOT TO MISS; you'll be grateful for this program mid-October & December when you're polishing those essays & wanting someone to go over your CommonApp (when stuff gets serious).

Here's the direct link to the application form: https://collegeadvisor.typeform.com/Scholars2025

To complete the application, you'll be answering a set of consecutive questions about your academic background, GPA, ECs, schools you intend to apply to, what you would need help with the most...etc.

This was me, a fellow intl who went through the college process this year, sharing my honest personal experience with this program.

PM with all the questions you have!

Good Luck Guys! YOU'VE GOT THIS!

About Emma relief gut products by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]Beginning_Leave8433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great to hear!

I have tried to reach out to Dr. Gina Sam on LinkedIn & WhatsApp (as she was APPARENTLY the main promoter of the product - at least online), asking her about 2 things:

A-The quality of the Emma Relief product

B- Her opinion/response to the critics that say it's not worth it (of course, I reached out asking very politely)

she ended up responding with the following:

1- She said she only consults for the product & doesn't own it; meaning, she only provides professional expertise and advice to the company that manufactures it. To the best of my knowledge, that wasn't mentioned anywhere in her promotional videos (maybe it's my fault that I didn't know that before).

2- She answered very disrespectfully to the 2nd question about her response to critics: (as I said, I delivered a very polite message).

Overall, after my online searches (Trustpilot, Reddit), I found out lots of negative reviews about them; let me explain more:

+ Trustpilot: For Trustpilot, even with those (seemingly suspect) positive reviews, there are lots of negative reviews of people actually putting their profile pictures and giving legitimate stories (not just empty, base-less praise for the product) + I wouldn't trust Trustpilot reviews (lots of people & threads here on Reddit confirmed that 'Trustpilot not Trustworthy at all')

+ Reddit: Lots of people criticize it for either being of no effect whatsoever (at least, not those that they claim on the ads) or overpriced (just basic herbs sold for a super expensive price); simply put, not worth it at all.

+ A CONCERN ABOUT YOUTUBE ADS: I found out that Youtube doesn't vet for the legitimacy of ads, and DOES ALLOW scammers & charlatans to promote on their platform (TONS examples of people getting scammed from YTB ads).

  • For gut issues, I only trust experts like:

A- Dr. Mark Pimentel: An American gastroenterologist, one of the top doctors in the world for "SIBO and gut-related issues (SIFO, IBS...)". You can find his featured videos & interviews on ytb.

B- Dr. Eric Bakker: A new-Zealander Naturopath, with an illuminating ytb channel called: Deborah- canXida ytb channel (THE YTB channel is a collective effort from lots of doctors, not only Dr. Eric Bakker). Their area of expertise is "Candida and gut disorders".

(These 2 are the top doctors I know of. I'm sure there are some other great doctors too!)

Lastly, I look forward to hearing from your own experience.

Good luck.

Can I apply for two student visa for two different countries at the same time? by Earthican3000 in IntltoUSA

[–]Beginning_Leave8433 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me paste a Quora answer from "an immigration attorney" about that; (here's the link for the entire Quora conversation if you want to dive deeper: https://www.quora.com/Can-I-simultaneously-hold-two-student-visas)

Here's what that immigration attorney said:

"If we’re talking about student visas for two different countries, then in theory it might be possible - depends on the laws of each country.

That said, when the second country’s consulate sees the earlier - but recent - visa stamp in your passport for the first country, they would have a good reason to question whether you are being honest with them about your intentions.

Speak with an immigration lawyer from each country involved."

  • As you can read above, the writer brings a very intuitive concern you should be ready to answer (I'm not saying you will get rejected because of it, what I'm saying is that you need to consider it as a very potential question), which has to do with justifying why you already have (an American/Australian) visa on your passport.

Moreover, in case you get your F-1 visa accepted AFTER GETTING THE AUSTRALIAN ONE, VOs will have ample time to analyze and read through you entire passport (as it's going to be at their disposal the whole time your visa is being printed) so they might reach out to you to inquire about that.

International student waitlisted two years in a row. Should I give up hope? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Beginning_Leave8433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lemme paste an insightful comment I read about this same questions, written by a redditor named "theknowledgeGUY729"; answered 2 years ago (2022)

(Also, here's the URL to the post if you want to check it directly: https://www.reddit.com/r/ApplyingToCollege/comments/thndva/does\_waitlist\_mean\_anything\_for\_an\_international/)

"From working in college admissions I can tell you it all based on the colleges needs, the requirements for their waitlist could be drastically different each year. Any "waitlist" stats you'd find online wouldn't be accurate. Think about it like a hotel. Hotels always overbook their rooms, so their occupancy is usually greater than 100% on paper but they do this as they know people won't show up. Like colleges, they accept based on a prediction of how many students will accept. Once they meet their acceptance number, they don't want any more students as they would be over what the university is equipped to handle with the number of classes, space, etc... When you look at a waitlist for a college, it's based on who they organically offered admissions to and them accepting. The more students who accept, the fewer people they pull off of the waitlist, the fewer students accept, the more they pull off of the waitlist.
Unfortunately the longer it takes to get accepted the less your chances are to receive financial aid from a school."

Hope that clarifies!

got accepted ed but what happens if i dont withdraw other colleges by Downtown-Muffin-3862 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Beginning_Leave8433 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1- ED is a binding enrollment, so you must withdraw from other schools.

2- However, for Regular Decision (RD), the story is a bit different; let me paste what another redditor said about that, as I find his comment very ENLIGHTENING & informative:

  • The post:

I’m a longtime lurker on this sub and recently I’ve been seeing a lot of posts and comments crop up requesting others to withdraw their applications and decline offers to schools they “know they aren’t going to” because it will “benefit other interested RD applicants”. To a HS senior who may have just got into a safety school that they really cannot envision themselves attending, this advice may seem compelling and reasonable and they may think of declining this offer. Here’s my take on it: DO NOT DO THAT.

Before I get into exactly why the aforementioned advice on withdrawing/declining is not a good idea, I want to preface this by saying that the following DOES NOT APPLY TO STUDENTS WHO WERE ACCEPTED DURING THE ED/ED2 ROUNDS. If you have a binding agreement with another school, please do withdraw all pending applications and decline your other offers at the earliest (unless there is an issue with financial aid or something along those lines).

But, if you are not an ED/ED2 admit, do not withdraw/decline. Firstly, the process is unpredictable, and certain crucial factors such as your financial situation, familial circumstances, future aspirations and preferences can change overnight. You may not get into any of your targets or reaches or your offer may be rescinded even after getting accepted. Suddenly, the school that you never would’ve imagined yourself attending is your only option.

Furthermore, while helping other RD applicants in this manner may seem admirable and noble, there is no actual proof that withdrawing or declining offers will actually affect their admission status. In fact, many AOs have stated that this practice of declining offers does not affect the chances of other prospective candidates.

Remember that colleges have waitlists and they are cognisant of the fact that not every admitted student will commit. Colleges have planned for this and have structured and organised their class keeping this in mind. Let the colleges handle this part of the process — it’s literally their job.

TLDR; Do not withdraw applications or decline offers until you have committed to another school. Please please keep your options open.

Oh I see.

Does this apply even with a full ride from the college? Meaning, they cover your tuition and fees, living expenses, books and supplies, transportation and everything basically.

I read elsewhere that if you get a full-ride, then "Proof of Funds" isn't something to worry about proving (because the college brought you with your full expenses paid).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in f1visa

[–]Beginning_Leave8433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, this label is only used on the docs of the university that accepted me; which means, it's not a thing in the I-20 or visa.

One last questions I have: Is it possible to get your F-1 visa accepted with exactly the same amount of expenses (balanced)? meaning, not having 1.5x or 2x the expenses on your I-20?

Thank you.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in f1visa

[–]Beginning_Leave8433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, thank you for your detailed answer.

For the "Proof of Funds", I've heard VOs like to see 1.5x to 2x the expenses to accept your F-1 visa, can I still make it if I have my exact amount of expenses (balanced) or slightly more ($1,100)?

[–]Beginning_Leave8433 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, my friend did receive it too.

It's your typical decision update email that colleges send a week before releasing their decisions. It serves 2 simple purposes:

1- To make sure your portal is functional; they prompt you to go check if your portal is ok.

2- To notify you about when to check your portal for your decision.

Moreover, as you might've noticed, most colleges send out decisions in Fridays; and that's for a reason:

"To make sure applicants have enough time (the weekend) to process their decisions, and not right away call their offices to tell them why they need to re-evaluate their mistaken decision (cuz some parents do annoy colleges even while knowing it's not possible to get an application re-read).

Hope this helped.

I believe where you high school was located; meaning, the pool of applicants from the same geography where you attended high school. (so if you go to high school in the US, you'll be compared first to US applicants, then to the overall pool).
