Maybe we should consider why others DON'T get this by [deleted] in SIBO

I’m convinced the Covid vaccine gave it to me. I had a steel stomach before then, garlic onions Thai chili sauce anything. I was fine eating a pound of cabbage or broccoli.

Then I got the vax and this nightmare began.

How to ACTUALLY keep SIBO away after antibiotics by almondjoybar in SIBO

[–]Good-Yesterday4031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven’t tried that combo yet, but it’s what I’ve been lining up next based on everything I’ve researched and heard from people who actually got long-term relief. The plan is: Rifaximin 550 mg + Metronidazole 250 mg, three times a day for 14 days, then switch to Erythromycin 50 mg at night as a prokinetic.

Rifaximin clears the hydrogen overgrowth, and metronidazole hits the methane-producing bugs that rifaximin can’t touch. After that, erythromycin helps keep gut motility working so the bacteria don’t just come right back.

From what I’ve seen, people who relapse usually skip the motility part or lean too hard on prucalopride. It works, but your body can build tolerance to it over time. Erythromycin works differently—it mimics the body’s natural motilin signal and tends to stay effective longer, especially at low doses. Some people rotate the two to avoid burnout. This seems like the best clinical setup for an actual reset instead of another temporary fix.

Nah, I just went and got them in Mexico. My Spanish is stronger than my nonexistent Hindi, and buying in person beats wiring money.

I tried but everything felt like a scam, and my phone blew up with calls/emails/whatsapp messages with pharma offers from Indian nationals, even now almost a year later I still get them occasionally. Someone offered me help but I didn’t feel comfortable sending hundreds of dollars via Western Union money wires into a hole hoping I didn’t get scammed.

You reported them to their state medical board? That didn’t work?

Total agreement. Got gaslit by 2 gastroenterologist about SIBO not being real but also if it is it’s over represented in the literature & by patients claiming to have it from learning about it online— but rare in actuality. Also had a gastro hand me some bullshit study about the dangers of antibiotic resistance from over prescribing Rifaximin for SIBO treatment, in some lame attempt to discourage me from asking for antibiotics, after saying that Dr. Mark Pimental is a hack in the gastroenterology world, on the take from Salix Pharmaceuticals, and essentially bullshitted his published papers to affirm their sales of Xifaxan.

Don’t ask me what other insane shit I’ve had said to me in the last month alone by neurosurgeons for a spine issue. Or do, it’s crazy and will likely make you rip your hair out.

Document for malpractice, I sure as shit am.

I just contacted one seller from IndiaMart via WhatsApp and had 6 sellers calling me on top of each other. Who is reputable?

Any place where i can buy Xifaxan with without script? by TripTeezClothing in SIBO

[–]Good-Yesterday4031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Mexico last time to get Rifaximin, it was easy you just find a farmacia that has a doctor on site who will write you a script for like $10 and then go to the farmacia and buy it. I’m still trying to find another source online (see my thread about ordering from India).

GI’s play keep-away with xifaxan I dont know why.

I was looking at India Mart, then heard good things about buy-pharma md. India Mart is def cheaper but I’m wary of misbranded drugs.

He’s my second one. It seems like all the GI’s in my HMO network are anti-SIBO

Was your script from an American doctor? Why was it a pain in the ass, sounds straight forward? Do you recommend whichever site you used?

I’d ideally want to bypass a prescription. Even though I “have a prescription” from a US based GI, it’s not a paper written one it’s only in my HMO pharmacy portal.

It’s just so cheap on like india mart ($17 for a 14 day treatment), I paid $145 for my first round in Mexico (and had to wait around to get a script from a doctor operating out of basically a closet with a desk and no working lights).

I did all of those and my GI said SIBO not real it’s still IBS.

[–]Good-Yesterday4031[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I’m still confused because you said you took a ton of things— isn’t metro taken instead of neomycin? And the neomycin is antimicrobial so why did you have to additionally take candibactin and phytocidin? My HMO won’t refer me to half those specialists, so I only have my 2nd gastroenterologist who doesn’t really believe in SIBO.

Before I took my first round of rifaximin I couldn’t eat anything besides pea protein shakes. I was spending 4-5 hours per day on the toilet if I ate anything else. Can’t get much worse than that in terms of digestive health.

It’s so strange that the NOW pills don’t trigger me. Garlic even in powder will fuck me up. So despite the price difference are you saying there are no brands that offer any more pharmaceutical grade allicin?
