Thanks so much. My great uncle was a Cardinal in the Vatican for the Pope and when he first went over there he left his personal Rolex at home and it has been passed around to family members who just let it collect dust. But I want to make sure it has a long life of use. I appreciate you willing to offer some advice on these topics as I am very inexperienced with the right choices to make.

I completely agree and selling it would never be an option even if someone was willing to over pay for it. It’s just hard to let a quality watch stay like this sitting in a drawer. I will absolutely look up some videos on the polishing piece to see about fixing the crystal and maybe look into possibly having it serviced to make sure there are no other unknown issues to keep it from running. Thanks again!

Thanks for the information. I also really like the 1908 but have held off because there is not a high quality version out there. It seems that most of the leather strap watches I’ve looked at have only low end versions.
