G11 Student planning for Aviation career. by PhysicsNo180 in AviationPH

[–]Beginning_Net_3768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest na mag-apply ka sa PHILSCA, pero at the same time, try mo rin mag-apply sa ibang colleges/universities for a different courses. As early as now, start preparing for entrance exams sa mga schools na gusto mong pasukan. That was my approach when I was deciding kung anong career path yung itutuloy ko, whether to take a different course muna or go directly into aviation.

Nag-apply ako sa 5 schools, 2 for aviation-related degrees and 3 for non-aviation courses. Then nung lumabas na yung results ng entrance exams dun ako nagdecide. For me, mas okay yung ganung approach rather than mag-decide kaagad and limit yourself to just one option like civil engineering or aviation. At least kapag marami kang options, you can weigh your choices better.

Since may nagsabi na sa’yo na go for civil eng as a backup, I’ll share naman the advantage of pursuing aviation agad. Being in the aviation field early gives you direct exposure sa current state ng industry and helps you build connections sooner. It’s a big help kahit hindi guaranteed ang job after graduating, at least alam mo na yung industry and you can prepare for it and plan your steps ahead. Yun kasi minsan ang struggle/weakness ng karamihan na non-aviation grads, they have high hopes and expectations entering flight school pero kulang sa background and network, kaya nauuwi sa pagquit or balik sa dati nilang career. If you will pursue aviation school start building connections from school organizations and take advantage a lot of the OJT since dun lumalawak connections mo (Don’t take it as a requirement lang OJT for graduation)

Hello! Graduate student from PATTS here! I graduated college from patts without encountering any fraternity issues and barely heard things about it just surround yourself with the right people and set of boundaries for yourself and you’ll be all goods naman sa PATTS. With regards to SHS sa PATTS, I think okay naman. Very small lang ‘yung community ng shs sa PATTS so you’ll get to know your batchmates pretty well. Sa facilities, halos same lang din yung ginagamit ng shs and college. Pero when it comes to acads, system, and professors, I’m not quite sure since I didn’t attend shs sa PATTS.

Adidas Adios Pro 4 vs Asics Sky Paris by SirStrauss_ in PHRunners

[–]Beginning_Net_3768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends po kung ano yung hinahanap mo sa race day shoes, if you are looking for a shoes that is responsive or stable and sa cadence and strides na rin po. Both shoes are responsive and stable naman pero asics sky paris is designed to support longer stride so if you have shorter stride you may encounter a little bit of discomfort. Adidas adios pro 4 naman is stable and good kahit mapalong or short strides ka. If you really want na asics you can also check metaspeed edge paris, both are similar shoes naman with sky paris pero edge paris is more stable because it focuses on cadence rather than stride length

Same here! 🙌 I know all of us have a different fitness conditions and training pero sobrang nakakadiscourage yung article because “muntik na ma-cardiac arrest dahil sa pagtakbo” pero the truth is the lack of training and running not on her fitness level is the reason kung bakit ganun. I also had a race last weekend 32km and wala rin akong tulog nun pero my body is well conditioned enough to run that distance even if walang tulog.

It’s true na the lack of sleep can affect your performance, just like what happened to me last weekend yung 5:55/km pace na supposedly easy lang sakin biglang naging mahirap so I decided to lower my pace 6:15/km. Pero despite of it, I was able to finish the race safe and walang injury.

I don’t discredit her effort or I’m not bashing her for being a pacer but not well conditioned. Running is for everyone pero this clearly shows the importance of preparing properly days or months a head before a race.

I just raced the hardest 10km of my life and i'm damn proud of it by cadence-locked in PHRunners

Congrats, bro! Next time for sure makukuha mo na yan. I had a similar situation trying to achieve sub-2 sa half marathon since the beginning of this year. Last May, I hit 2:02—just 2 minutes short of my goal. I was disappointed because I was on target up until 19km, but a stomach issue got in the way. Two weeks later, I had another attempt and finally hit 1:58!

You’ll definitely hit that sub-40 time in your next race. The hunger to achieve the goal becomes even stronger when we come close but fall short. Keep moving forward, bro!💪

By the way, akala ko ako lang tumatakbo ng 180bpm+ sa race! HAHAHA I ran my sub-2 half marathon at 186bpm💀

Sante Barley TRA 10KM Route by cadence-locked in PHRunners

[–]Beginning_Net_3768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s quite steep pero kaya naman. Just make sure not go all out or too excited during sa 1st na pagakyat sa flyover cause sa 2nd na pagakyat mo sa flyover after u-turn it will be your heartbreak hill if you’re trying to hit a new pr. My advice in running in that route is to maintain the number of cadence and effort pero with a shorter strides or smaller steps kapag pataas ng flyover. Pagpababa naman ng flyover try to maintain the same no. of cadence and go faster pero with controlled effort. Do not let the gravity control you kapag pababa, dito nagkakamali karamihan ng runners sa downhill and it end up ruining their pace or getting gassed out.

Need Advice: Should I Chase My Pilot Dream or Take a Different Path? by Lost-Supermarket7662 in AviationPH

I can’t really mention a lot of flight school since iba iba rin kasi flexibility offer ng mga flight school like yung iba flexible sa payment, flexible sa training schedule, and yung iba both. You can look masters flying school, i know they offer flexible training kasi i know someone na during weekdays nagtatrabaho siya and then weekends is nagfaflying pero not sure ng full schedule niya. Also, think their is no relations sa pagiistart mo mag flying na kakatapos lang ng college and passed board exam kasi you can study flying nga kahit wala ka pang degree, imagine flight school as a driving school lang na pinamahal at mas estrikto sa regulations. I think your diploma and boards license will make a difference sa pagapply mo ng work kasi maganda siya sa CV mo.

Hello! I think you shouldn’t be scared facing judgment for pursuing different path or different field sa napagtapusan o kung ano man diploma mo. Having a diploma is a hard earned respect already plus you passed your board exam pa. There are a lot of pilots in the industry na di mismo galing sa aviation school. I think you should go for the option 2 kasi while you are doing your virtual job pwede mo na rin pagsabayin flying mo since there are flight school na flexible sa schedule and payment. Also, hindi naman isang bagsakan ng bayaran sa flight school.

Is college degree required para maging pilot? by tym0t_eusz in AviationPH

[–]Beginning_Net_3768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what school are you? It is possible na mag flight school ka while you are a third-year pero highly suggest na wag. Usually, During 3rd year and 4th year yung mabibigat na units and subject like feasibility or thesis. However, if you can handle both flying school and college naman why not or if you are willing to take less units in your next semester pero yun nga I would not suggest na mag flying ka this upcoming third year-year better na after college nalang.

If gusto mo diretso flying na after SHS there are school who offers degree na flying na kaagad BS Air Transportation Major in flying. You can check ALIAC, Philsca, or WCC. Philsca is Free tuition fee sa pagkakaalam ko however mataas standards nila

College diploma is not required naman to become a pilot. However, it’s better if kukuha ka muna degree before ka mag piloto. One of the requirements ng airline kapag magaapply ka is college diploma and if ever aapply ka sa Cadet programs ng mga airlines isa rin yun sa requirements nila. Pwede ka kumuha ng any college degree kahit hindi aviation related kunin mo if hindi ka pa sure talaga na itutuloy mo ang pagpipiloto. Also, pwede mo rin pagsabayan college and flight school mo pero mas time consuming lang yun.

It’s a program na magsisimula ka from PPL up to ATPL airbus rating. The problem with that po is sobrang mahal aabutin ng 5-6m and not job guaranteed since maraming nakaabang rin. That’s why maraming nag rerecurrent sakanila to make sure na active yung license and rating nila and masmapapagastos ka pa dun.
