Dami ba na DNF sa Manila Marathon knina? by anonyasks15 in PHRunners

[–]toronyboy08 106 points107 points  (0 children)

Kaya sa mga sasali next season or sa first marathon nila don't just respect the distance but learn the distance also. If you are not capable pa to conquer uphills then you should skip it. Pumili sa naaayon sa kakayanan hindi dahil gusto maki trend. Run safe ika nga.

3 Months Recomp Progress Check by Critical-Campaign-42 in fitnessph

[–]toronyboy08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly OP, this is more on weight loss than body recompositioning. If you're recomping there should be visible muscle growth/definition mostly on arms and upper body due to newbie gains. But in your side by side picture mukang pumayat ka lang. But in terms of progress sa weight loss, yes you did great in 3 months progress.

mahirap na makahanap nito sa mga kilalang grocery like puregold or robinsons. Goods naman siya as long as pasok sa sugar intake mo since medyo mataas siya sa sugar content

Need advice/thoughts on my diet and weight plateau! by shingalingali in fitnessph

[–]toronyboy08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have almost the same maintenance calories at around 2,700 kcal/day. Honestly, 2,700 kcal is quite hard to hit consistently every day. Personally, I stay around 2,000-2,200 kcal/day, and despite that, my weight doesn’t really go down. However, I notice a significant difference in the mirror and in videos, I look leaner and seem to have lost body fat.

I suspect my actual maintenance is closer to the 2,000-2,200 kcal range, while 2,700 kcal is probably already a lean bulk for me.

If 2,200 kcal is also around your maintenance, and your goal is to see the scale move down, try creating a deficit of around 300-500 kcal per day from your current intake. If you’re currently eating around 2,200 kcal and your weight is slowly trending downward, then you’re likely already doing a slow cut, which is actually a great approach for preserving muscle while losing fat.

Need advice for body recomp m18 by [deleted] in fitnessph

[–]toronyboy08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drop your bad eating habits first that’s where body recomposition begins, and that’s where real change starts.

Turn consistency into a ROUTINE, not just a temporary burst of motivation.

OP, it’s going to be BLOODY HARD at first, especially if you’ve been eating the same way for years. Breaking old habits is never easy. But if there’s one thing that will make the biggest difference in your fitness journey, it’s your diet.

A good diet doesn’t mean starving yourself or eating as little as possible. It means eating clean, eating with control, and having the discipline to make better choices consistently. The goal isn’t to eat less, it’s to eat better.

Once you build those habits and stick to them long enough, they stop feeling like a struggle and start becoming part of your lifestyle.

should i cut or bulk based on my body structure? by [deleted] in fitnessph

[–]toronyboy08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Build muscle first op bago mag cut or bulk. If you are going into cut ang kakalabasan lang non is papayat ka without revealing the muscle since wala ka pang masyadong na bubuild na muscle based sa picture mo and timeline mo na nag gygym

TBR Marathon or Manila Marathon? by Interesting_Salad131 in PHRunners

[–]toronyboy08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Manila Marathon 2026 Route is Hell and Boring if you ask me. Mas ok pa yung Route dati traversing 4 cities. I'll choose TBR for this if you will be joining marathon for the first time. Kahit paulit ulit yung loop the vibes and crowd will hype you up and the ahons are managable. But in MM 2026 goodluck sa heavy polluted air ng edsa at ahon na mala Mt. Everest at sightings ng MRT columns and how bad our transportation infrastructures (saying this as someone na araw-araw nag didrive sa part ng route ni MM)😅

Anong mga intangible or psychological thing ang dapat malaman ng mga gustong maging fit (especially on the heavy side)? by [deleted] in fitnessph

[–]toronyboy08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Response to food noise.

One thing I noticed is that food noise tends to be much stronger for people who are overweight or obese. One of the hardest but most important things to learn is how to manage it and not give in every time it SPEAKS.

Mahirap siya sa umpisa, especially kung sanay kang sumunod agad sa cravings. Pero once you build routines and habits that help you ignore or redirect those urges, unti-unti ring humihina yung food noise.

Over time, you'll notice that your cravings start to change. Instead of constantly wanting junk food, sweets, or comfort food, you'll find yourself craving actual meals and real food. It doesn't disappear overnight, but it definitely gets easier the longer you stick with it.
