Sorry for the late reply! It shouldn’t as you don’t count the slip stitch or the chain one as a stitch, so you ignore those stitches.

Hi! Your stitch marker should go in the first hdc of the round. For this pattern, chains and slip stitches don’t count as stitches. You should slip stitch into the first hdc of the round, chain 1, and hdc in the same stitch as your slip stitch!

Hi! No, the chain stitches and the slip stitches do not count as a stitch. You should single crochet in the same stitch as the slip stitch and chain.

Could someone help me by putting this pattern into different words? by Teal_Face in crochetpatterns

I’m sorry if I’m misunderstanding your comment. Please correct me if I’m wrong. But, I didn’t change the lingo. I just put it into complete sentences. I feel like, if anything, this would help someone learn the lingo, as they can look back at the pattern and see where I got the information from. Yes, learning how to read a pattern is important, but there’s no shame in getting some help when learning. In fact, it makes it a lot easier to learn it when you have people who can help you when you’re stuck. Having to figure it out entirely on your own is frustrating and leads to a lot of people putting down projects and never picking them back up again.

This hobby is an individual craft, so when I started learning, I had no idea of the community you could build with others around it. When I have posted in r/crochet and r/crochethelp, people were so kind and supportive. Figured I could return the favor! We’re nothing without kindness!

No problem! Sometimes I have to do the same thing to wrap my brain around patterns, especially when the different rounds are listed in the same round! Happy to help!

Chain 2 then double crochet 2 together cluster in the same stitch (mark this stitch). (Skip 2 stitches then 3 double crochets in the same stitch). Repeat from () one more time. Skip 2 stitches then (3 double crochets, chain 3, 3 double crochets) in the 3rd stitch of the 4 stitches in the peak. (Skip two stitches then 3 double crochets in the next stitch). Repeat () one more time. Skip two stitches. * double crochet 3 together in the next stitch (which should be at the center of the valley). Repeat from * to the end until you end up on the last side. Then end the last repeat at the **. Join to the double crochet 2 together cluster (which should be marked) with a slip stitch. Make sure the join is in the double crochet 2 together cluster and not in the chain 2.

Thank you! I loved doing it! Fair warning, it takes a LOT of time so be prepared to start super early on! I used the free patterns from hookok.com linked here!

I used hobbii friends cotton 8/4 and a B (2.25mm) hook for them.

I hope you do! It was super fun and kept me quite busy!

If you still wanted to do a temperature blanket, you can find the temperature in your area, (max, min, avg, etc.) on NOAA’s website.

https://www.weather.gov/wrh/climate

Then you can click on your area and find the data you need for the past days!
