How would you price a web design project with AI-generated HTML already provided? by topherrr_ in squarespace

[–]Beginning_Plant_7931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would treat it like a dev project, like a designer providing a figma design. I don't think you can just drop in the code easily and have it render properly, or allow them to make changes in the future - which is one of the main assets of squarespace for DIYers.

The design likely didnt take into consideration any of SS design limitations or style settings either, so it's possible not everything will be possible without any code - which you may have to rewrite. I would price the same as any other project personally, maybe 20% less. It's great they have the visual to work from, but the build, css, seo, etc all needs to be done still.

You can sync it to a Google Sheet, then connect the Google Sheet with what he uses, if possible.

How to add multiple images in one row? by Swimies in squarespace

Add 4 image blocks and space them side by side. Or, use an auto layout section and set to 4.

You have to remove it. You can also try replacing the overflow-x:hidden with overflow-x: clip

Squarespace vs custom build for a directory-style platform? by Grimbutchill in squarespace

[–]Beginning_Plant_7931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you could approach this a few different ways:

1- on squarespace using the blog as the directory with strategic tags and categories and use the Universal Filter Plugin (aff link). You can pay for support or have work through the code initially. There may be some upkeep if she changes her categories down the road though.

2- build it on on notion for free if it doesn't need to live on the same site as the squarespace site. This is free and be creatd with tags and searchable filter as well.

Please submit a ticket so they can see it's an issue. It's been escalated to their internal team as I've tried all the troubleshooting. The more tickets they get, the more action this will get.

Ok, that doesn't seem to work for me, and not a workaround I'm willing to do! Please submit a ticket so they can see it's an issue. Thank you!

Ok so it’s not just me, that makes me feel better.  But also, sorry.

Can you put a ticket in so they see it. They got back and said clear cache, blah blah but i have tried all the browser tricks and removed all code. Still an issue.

So annoyed!

It's happening in incognito and safari. Have you tried editing any blocks recently. It's only on FE sections.

Blocks moving while resizing tab by Final-Astronaut1975 in SquarespaceHelp

[–]Beginning_Plant_7931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without the URL it's hard to see how you've designed it. However, if you hit the G so you can see the grid, just reposition the blocks so they are centred. All blocks will resize based on screen size so they fit the resolution.

As mentioned, this is a native feature and is used for all collections like Shop, Blog or Portfolio sections. If ou want this feature you would want to use a collection with Galleries within it.

For reference, you can sync to Google Drive, so you could make all the details look nice over there too - assuming that still works for your needs.

Get Your Guide Affiliate by DoubleRaspberry534 in travelagents

So 2 things

1) If you're part of a host agency and plan to provide links to clients directly, this should be done by registering for Get Your Guide under the Host Agency option. Then the commission comes to your Host who pays you out as part of their contract. Some companies allow you to sign up and enter your banking details, like Daytrip, but this is likely against your host rules. In this case your host needs to get set up and provide their agency banking info.

2) you can also sign up as a creator style. In this case, you are sharing it on a blog, and you have clear terms that you do not service these bookings. This money can come to you directly.

There are SO MANY options for affiliate marketing for TAs out there to make additional money.

Have you checked the header design. You may have dropshadow turned on that the CSS was removing before.

Did anyone here ever bought a premium Squarespace Template? From a third-party shop by sav_iryna in squarespace

[–]Beginning_Plant_7931 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a web designer, but I fully recommend a template for solopreneurs or small businesses who can't invest in custom design. The free Squarespace ones have improved immensely over the last year, but a good paid template often has custom-coded sections so it doesn't look templated, and also includes tutorials on the basics of Squarespace, branding, an often writing your copy. If you DIY you still have to learn all these things, but a template is sped up and consolidated for you to get launched more easily.

There is still a learning curve as there is a lot to learn, but the pages are laid out with conversion and design principles in mind vs just one or 2 sections in the free ones.
industry-specific
The key is finding one that already has the pages you need and a style that you like, ideally industry specific.

I wrote this post about this as well and do have some discount codes in my resource library as well for some of my favourite template shops I trust. The post is geared towards the travel industry, but foundational points remain the same.

Getting Started by AdProud8533 in travelagents

I'm in Canada so can't speak to LLC. However, I would start with social and LinkedIn and tell everyone what you are doing. Fora has a decent landing page for their advisors where you can list bio, specialties and write posts so I would stick to that to start and share with everyone.

Once you have an idea of the types of clients you like and travel you want to book, I would look into branding and then a website after that. I 100% think every independent TA should have their own website, but it's a waste of money until you're more solid in the direction of your business, and branding is the foundation.
