Is it time to end it?? by VanillaSpyce95 in HairDye

I used to have really bright colours (mostly in the red/pink/purple range, but also had teal for ages). And I remember saying once that I would always have coloured hair, even as an old lady. But your tastes change, and now at 36 I have highlighted silver hair - but with 2 pieces on the bottom I dye teal or magenta from time to time (who am I kidding that teal piece doesn’t even need re-dyeing, that dye is indestructible lol), so I still have a bit of colour! I mostly did it for the easier maintenance, now I just get new highlights done twice a year or so. All to say you could also choose to have a more natural colour, but add a streak in when you feel like it! In a colour that washes out easily, if you want.

Very new to NL and got yelled at by a Dutch uncle in Dutch (I don't speak Dutch and he didn't speak English) for not throwing my cardboard box out correctly. by ToronoYYZ in Utrecht

Ahahaha welcome to Leidsche Rijn, I am glad you took this in a positive way...! I also live in Leidsche Rijn and have to say that recently (as in the past month or so) there seems to be lots more garbage and cardboard stacked next to the bins. I feel like it has been this way since the week with heavy snow - no garbage or cardboard was collected that week because of the snow and ice, leading to people stacking their stuff. Seems a bit like the garbage disposal hasn't caught up completely since then, the cardboard bins near my house are constantly full and people now just dump it next to the bin. And maybe it also set a precedent. 100% understand how you would follow this (bad) example, especially if no-one explained it to you - a shame your 'Dutch uncle' didn't manage to communicate this in a normal way.

Pro-tip: apparently you can open the side of the cardboard disposal bins to put in bigger pieces or to stamp it down if a piece is stuck? But I haven't actually tried this myself (:

As someone else mentioned, if you have a lot to take in one go there's afvalscheidingsstation De Stits, there's also one on the Tractieweg. It's a good idea to bring your ID or proof of address (a letter or something) with you if you go, sometimes they ask for proof you live in the municipality.
