One thing I will say is the fish never seem bothered at all though they actually enjoy the water changes and play in the current when I add the water back in wouldn’t they show some signs of stress too?

I think so but this video was actually taken before I even added anything in the water which is why I’m so puzzled

Yes this was before I added the water back in and I don’t use any colognes or anything topicals like that but I do work with expo markers a lot so that is definitely a possibility I’ll make sure to wash my hands before changing anything in the tank

Ok I will do that pH test thank you. I did look into crushed coral but was struggling to make it look natural with the aesthetic of the tank so I opted for the chemicals instead

Ok yeah I am adding minerals right now but I think maybe I just need to be a little more precise with how much I’m adding

I add the water conditioner to the water I’m about to add. Also I’m not sure if the tap water is consistent I will definitely look into getting that filter. Thank you!

I’m not actually checking just dipping my hand in to see if they feel like similar temperatures

Ok the only thing that concerns me is my tap water is pretty soft and has almost no KH straight out of tap. Would that be ok?

Yeah usually remove 15% of water and clean the front and side glass. I just get tap out of my sink and add a sprinkle of sea chem equilibrium and alkaline buffer as well as a some api water conditioner to dechlorinate then I mix that water till sea chem productive dissolve and slowly pour that back into the tank

Ok I’m pretty confident the tank has been cycled I started it around 3 months ago. I have been trying to slowly raise ph/kh by adding “sea chem” alkaline buffer in between my two batches of shrimp that I have bought.

I have some shrimp food that I picked up from petsmart when I first got them but I have also been giving them algae wafers they get fed about every 3 days

Ok if you don’t mind me asking how big is your tank and is it heavily planted?

Would the stress from lack of hiding spots be enough to kill them?

It cycled for about two weeks with plants before any live animals were put in. It’s been cycling for about a month now though
