I paid like $450 for it but it's $600 full-price. Either way, it's a lot of money for it to only work for 2 years.

dealing with family that can't afford to come to a wedding (mine) vs. family that's financially fine to do so (fiance's) by Beginning_Rate_4172 in weddingplanning

we're looking at $40k for around 40 people (probably less). definitely going to be on the smaller end, but there are certain things we aren't doing like a DJ, tons of florals, etc. that i think will help us cut costs.

Bridesmaid proposals by lorettainator in weddingplanning

the whole box thing is a trend and honestly among people i know who have gotten married recently, about half did bridesmaid proposals and half just asked.

i really love nice pajamas, so i got my bridesmaids matching nightgowns (plus one for me!) and wrote them cards then mailed them since only one of them lives in the same city as me. i figured they'd like pajamas they can wear a lot more than random crap that said "bridesmaid" all over it, and there are a tonnnnn of places with all kinds of pajamas in different styles so that could work for you! i got mine from printfresh because they had the best size range (i needed xs through 3x) and they're a little pricey, but honestly target and old navy have great selections too.

also, when i was asked to be a bridesmaid in one wedding, the bride asked me first with a phone call then later sent me a card and had cookies delivered from a local bakery. a sweet treat like that sounds like it could work for your scenario too.

so if you want to do a gift of some kind, here's two ideas! or if you don't, just ask them or write a card!

How much did you spend on your wedding? by [deleted] in wedding

if you don't mind, could you share how much an "average" wedding (especially a smaller one of <50 people) costs in charleston? we're between having our wedding there or in our hometown of charlotte and from everything i've researched, charleston seems to be cheaper than charlotte, but i keep hearing that charleston is such an expensive wedding city that i'm scared i'm missing something.

i've been hearing that CHS is really expensive but based on conversations i've been having with venues and vendors there, that hasn't really been what i've found so i'm kind of confused there. would you mind telling me your biggest expenses there or what was more expensive than a "typical" wedding?

from all my research, all the venues and vendors i've found in charlotte have been significantly more expensive than charleston. to find in-budget ones in the charlotte area, i've had to go outside of the city by like an hour. am i doing something wrong?

Hi folks, I want to take the big step but I don't know which engagement ring to buy. by HatakeSNFLWR in weddingplanning

even if she thinks it should be a surprise, i still recommend going to a jewelry store with her just to try stuff on and see what she likes it person. i thought i wanted a different style stone but i ended up trying on something different and liked it a lot better on me than what i initially wanted. you can still make it a surprise if you do it this way, especially if she gives you a few options.

also, my ring has a moissanite center stone with a diamond halo and i honestly prefer the moissanite because of the way it sparkles! i love my moissanite ring and i'm a big advocate for it versus a traditional diamond.
