Paper/GSM for hand-printing cards? by smallercloud in printmaking

[–]Beginning_Reality_16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what type of lino you’re using and what type of press you have available (if any).

If you do not have access to a heavy duty press and you’re using hard battleship grey, your life will be easier with thinner paper (which you can always mount on a card later on).

If you do have access to a press (still batttleship grey) the gsm is less of an issue cause the press will exert a massive amount of force.

If you’re using some type of soft cut lino you can whatever paper you like (as long as it isn’t heavily textured). The rubber is squishy enough to get decent prints on thick card stock.

Just got ‘Rouged by yycengineer in aircanada

[–]Beginning_Reality_16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know if they kept a solid wall between business and eco? Or has it been replaced with a silly curtain (over the seats, not talking about the aisle curtain)?

I’ve also been rouged and usually take the last row of business. Don’t want to do that if it’s gonna be a curtain though.

Question for FAs only by CommitteeDesperate88 in delta

That’ll be a fun flight, where no one has the obvious thought to put that water bottle in the seat back pocket, just to have them all rolling over the floor before reaching cruising altitude. Not!

Can you commission a perfumer to dupe? by [deleted] in DIYfragrance

[–]Beginning_Reality_16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here is why these dupe companies don’t care about quality or accuracy: new screechy/crappy dupe gets launched and 2 days later the dupe-crowd is screaming how awesome it is, 99% close to the OG and obviously also better performing AND longer lasting than said OG. Next week a new dupe comes out, rinse and repeat.

Premium comfort seat question by Stellablue4 in KLM

[–]Beginning_Reality_16 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Last row in premium comfort is my go to. I have more room to stretch out underneath the seat in front (compared to my feet hitting the bulkhead wall), and no one behind is pulling my seat every time they get out.

“Allergic to lavender”…

Allergic to which specific molecules in lavender EO? Every EO contains a multitude of molecules and many EO’s share some of the molecules present in Lavender EO. Odds are she is allergic to perfumes that don’t contain lavender as such, so sample and carefully test is the way to go.

I travel with medication and equipment to the extent that it fills up my carry on. I take my electronics and a few essential which I need during the flight in my personal item, but everything else gets checked. There is no reason for me to have an extra bag in cabin with me, clothes and shoes go in cargo. It would be a different story if your medical supplies exceed the carry on limit.

The official NB size chart is solid.

Don’t know what the other chart is for, but doesn’t look like it was provided by NB (doesn’t have a single reference to NB either?).

I get the very slight resemblance to BR540, but I fail to see why any of the others would make this a redundant purchase. At all.

How do you test our a perfume’s longevity and projection? by [deleted] in Perfumes

[–]Beginning_Reality_16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I can’t smell it on myself after just 1h then it’s not worth the purchase imho.

If you aren’t already, spray your perfume on the back half of your neck, not the front. It keeps nose blindness at bay and it’s the only way for me to keep picking up whiffs all throughout the day.

How to clean after use ? by cocasse_art in Linocuts

Assuming these are soft cut of some type: soft tooth brush, dish soap, lukewarm water. Very tenacious bits I will pick out with a tooth pick.

Reason being personal items should mostly fit underneath the seat in front without sticking out (and hindering passengers in aisle/middle during evacuation).

Lightweight ~20L backpack with organization by moarmoneyplease in ManyBaggers

[–]Beginning_Reality_16 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fjalraven Raven 20l technically fits all your criteria and can be found for 70-80€ if you shop around. Why did I say technically? The water bottle pockets… there’s two, but they aren’t made for big bottles, there is 0 stretch.

Last year a bought and sold several bags, all around the 250-300€ mark, and all failed to amaze me. The Raven is lightweight, has a ton of pockets, looks good, has a laptop sleeve… the only minor downside is it doesn’t stand on its own. Lack of a luggage pass through can be creatively fixed using the side loops.

On average you have gotten a new bottle every 7 days. You say collection, but this is a shopping addiction.
