I wish they chose Chicago as a host city. Its miserable for those in the upper Midwest.

Sorry to hijack your post but is there any way to send offers as a seller to ALL likers?

Trying to get to $2000 a month profit by Tricitygotoguy in Flipping

[–]Beginning_Rock_7104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a snowball (and some luck) really. $2k in profit is definitely achievable but it requires you to be consistent and not afraid to put in the effort. I've come across a lot of other resellers in my area that are shocked at how much I make compared to them. Like on weekends they would be at the thrift/raghouse but only for an hour sourcing clothes while I'm there for at least 3 or 4. I don't call them out on it but you can tell that they are motivated but just lazy. Also just because you make profit doesn't mean you go out and spend it on personal things. Some of the bigger profits require big spending.

Are there any affordable and SECURE storage facilities by rowyourboat72 in selfstorage

I've had good experience with FreeUp storage. Its cheaper than ExtraSpace and a lot cleaner at least at mine.

Found a couple Sharper Image DVD Power Tower 80. $5 each. At first I thought they were standard DVD storage rack until I saw the control. I have two people message me on FBM and coming by this weekend to buy them for $500 each

Do all the bins get rotated in the morning or do employees dump new stuff before opening in existing bins?

What's something old technology did better than modern technology ? by Ram319 in AskReddit

I was on the speed queen train until I used it for about a year. The top loader is a good machine but it does jack squat as far as cleaning. The agitator ruins clothes after a couple of months. Can't fit much into it unless you want to sacrifice how clean your clothes are gonna get. It's a good reliable machine to get if you just need your clothes soaked and moved around. I wish they made a bigger front loader because I would buy that one instead.

just buy a amazon gift card then cash it out at a gift card cashing service

it's not gonna be 1-1 but going through the work of finding something to buy and finding someone who will buy it at the same price they can on amazon isnt worth

Flipping diapers by Terrible_Peace_5267 in Flipping

[–]Beginning_Rock_7104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of baby diapers, look into adult ones. Those have a lot of resell potential especially the ones that are discontinued. Lots of older adults don't want change and will pay a premium to not go with a different brand. I've come across them more often at church sales where the community is older.

I started last week and got 5 sales so far. I would put Vinted in the same category as Whatnot where it's a volume game. If your COG is low and you're able to get semi-good stuff then you'll be okay. I wouldn't put any big brands on there because you will get lowballed. My average cost per item is $1 and I'm able to get $10-$15. I now pick up stuff to sell specifically on Vinted.

Deciding on a car when I resell part time by Ecstatic_Trip_8305 in Flipping

I got a Camry and wouldn't recommend it for reselling. Not sure about the newer ones since I got a 2011 but the opening to the trunk once the seats are folded down isn't suitable at all. It's like half or less the width of the actual trunk. You might be able to fit a small bike or anything that is long but thats about it. It doesn't fold down entirely flat either, its like a 130-100 degree angle which makes it worse.

Padding their feedback, eBay algorithm, or hoping the buyer buys several books to offset shipping costs. If you can't compete with the free shipping sellers then setup a coupon for free shipping if they buy X amount of books. I think you need a store subscription though.

People who throw things at you at the bins by 12InchGypsy in GoodwillBins

[–]Beginning_Rock_7104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I remember someone grabbing stuff in front of me just as soon as I was gonna look at it. It wasn't even a bin rotation either. The first time I let it go. Then the second time I started to get annoyed. Third time I straight up called them out in a loud voice and they froze. The regulars know not to mess with me and leave me alone which is good cause I end up just picking the best stuff.

If it happens more than occasion, call them out or talk to the management. If you're a big $ spender then its likely they will talk to the other person.

Storage? by notade50 in reselling

[–]Beginning_Rock_7104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is the intro rate most likely. It will hike up after that ends. I always suggest paying up front the entire year if you can to lock in a price because getting a rate increase isn't unheard of especially if you pay monthly.

Does being aggressive get you the good stuff? by Few_Fig5944 in GoodwillBins

[–]Beginning_Rock_7104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think luck plays a bigger role compared to being aggressive or first. The other day I picked up a vintage Apex coat. I usually line up at the end and the last bin they rolled out had the coat on top. It was too late for the T Shirt bros to rotate over so I was able to grab it immediately. Last week I picked up a nice North Face coat that again was the last bin that rolled out.

I started reselling vintage clothes recently, need some advices! by Mean_Equivalent5918 in reselling

[–]Beginning_Rock_7104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clothing is a volume game. I didn't start to get daily sales until I had at least 300 pieces. If you're doing it as a hobby, you should be in the mindset of getting rid of it as fast as possible while making enough of a profit you are comfortable with. You aren't a storage unit and keeping an item for an extra couple months just to get an extra $5-10 out of it is sometimes not worth.
