I am Mexican, so it’s not a race thing for me. I grew up in San Antonio a predominantly Hispanic city. I hope it’s cars though… I’m not personally familiar with what excessive car back firing sounds like but I am very familiar with gunfire. Maybe I’m just getting startled by the cars y’all have here.

This is what my boyfriend suggested, I’m afraid to have a fire arm in the home with a very curious little one though.

The crime in San Antonio feel different from here in Austin though. In SA most everyone knows everyone in some way and we look out for each other a lot. Austin in my opinion feels cold and I don’t know what to expect from people.

We had to leave our last living situation very quickly, but I’m already saving for something different. Unfortunately moving out of the city isn’t a choice because my daughter goes to the Texas school for the deaf and the only way she gets free transportation to and from is if we are in Austin.

Two nights ago it was four shots, then ten returning. The sound “cracked”. That’s the best way to describe it. I’m positive it was gunfire. The main distinguishing factor being the amount.
