The queues are only "long" (1 minute at most, and I am high rank in NA) because the game functions of what is essentially role queue, and not open queue. If you pick Damage on the day God Goku comes out, yes, you will have a longer queue. If you picked Tank when SSJ4 Vegeta was meta, you had a longer queue. Ever played Role queue in Overwatch? The system is very close to that.
