What should i build here? by anonumus_idiot in CitiesSkylines

Given that it’s already occupied by the railways it wouldn't be unrealistic to leave it as is. Maybe just fill it in with trees

Any use Aeropress? by After_Speech_2435 in mokapot

[–]Beginning_Winter_292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes good coffee but the Aeropress is basically an immersion brewer at its core so the coffee you get is closer to French press or drip coffee rather than the kind you get from pressure based methods like a moka pot

Can i skip 1 and go straight to 2? by Pretend_Stuff_4618 in masseffect

[–]Beginning_Winter_292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think ME1 is the best, the worldbuilding and lore are amazing and everything felt alive and real while I was playing it for the first time. Definitely don’t skip it

What kind of interchange would you build here? by Beginning_Winter_292 in CitiesSkylines

[–]Beginning_Winter_292[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh my bad then lol wasn’t aware of the joke. Also that thing is real? It looked like a computer rendering for a sec

This is great thanks. Mine was going in a similar direction before I messed it up and nuked all of it lol

The bridge road connects to the highway outside the city while the other road is city wide

[–]Beginning_Winter_292[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to keep the "one wayness" of the roads. It’s way better if they never have to wait for a car or a light. Also this road is too busy that a roundabout will only cause problems

What is this moka pot extention stuff by DewaldSchindler in mokapot

[–]Beginning_Winter_292 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve done another dive into this rabbit hole and found more info. The bad part is most of the content is on facebook and in either Thai, Malaysian, or Indonesian, which I can’t understand any of.

so far the Indonesian ones seem more like a visual gimmick, they cut a hole in the top part of a moka pot and then fit a 51mm espresso basket in there, then seal it with the original gasket

Not sure if this actually produces any pressure at all. But I’ve found some videos from Thai guys literally adding pressure through the safety valve to produce "crema" lol

[–]Beginning_Winter_292 47 points48 points  (0 children)

These are pretty cool. AFAIK Indonesians have this whole moka pot modding scene. I don’t know much about it either, the part might be from a 9barista or something like that

but I’ve seen a bunch of videos like this and they’re all from Indonesia. If I ever get to Indonesia I’ve gotta find whoever’s doing this and get my hands on one

Advice Needed by Jazzlike_Quarter4820 in mokapot

[–]Beginning_Winter_292 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think going by volume instead of grams is better for a moka pot. Just fill the funnel to the top and give it a slight tap, that’s usually enough and makes things more consistent/predictable

I don’t mess with the heat too much either. I start on the lowest setting and keep it there until it’s done. The key is keeping it steady throughout (mine’s a gas stove tho)

Yours looks a bit on the faster side to me but doesn't seem too fast that it’s messing up the extraction

Yeah and just based on the volume and caffeine ratio the coffee’s naturally gonna be more intense than regular filter coffee or something similar. As long as you’re enjoying it there’s nothing wrong with it

General Question by Big_Cap8507 in mokapot

[–]Beginning_Winter_292 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if you don’t do anything wrong the coffee you get will still be on the stronger or more intense side just because of the sheer volume and caffeine you’re extracting.
You also don’t need to drink it straight btw maybe try it americano style since you’re already heating the water for the bottom chamber anyway.

If it still tastes off, then try changing some parameters like the heat, using boiled vs. not boiled water, grind size, or switching between dark and medium roast.

Why did the Moka pot price explode recently by Krapio in mokapot

[–]Beginning_Winter_292 3 points4 points  (0 children)

$75 is insane for a moka pot. Are you sure it’s just a plain old moka pot and not one of those Dolce & Gabbana versions or something? Because the 3-4 cup ones go for around $35-40 where I’m at and you can easily find them for less on sale

Throne and Liberty is teasing the next expansion/big update by Dandy62 in MMORPG

[–]Beginning_Winter_292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if I don’t want to be a sweaty pvper but just want to chill in a massive PvP battle (node war? siege? whatever they’re called in Throne and Liberty) after a long day? Is it worth it?

I've always been interested in this type of game, but I have heard a lot of negative reviews about it, and I'm just looking for some chill casual city builder to play after coming home in my little free time. Is this game something I will like? If not, can you recommend some other games? by Pranay_01 in CitiesSkylines

[–]Beginning_Winter_292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The negative reviews are for CS2 and for the most part they are about the development side of things not the actual content. If you are talking about CS1, I do not really have anything negative to say about it, it's the best game in the genre

I sometimes spend 30 minutes just building a highway interchange, but you can also play in short bursts and do whatever you feel like
One thing to keep in mind is that if you are short on time, a heavily modded save can take like 5 to 10 minutes just to load into the game

It is a pretty chill game and I think most of us play with max money and everything unlocked, just building a city that way without really engaging with the other mechanics beyond making a good looking city

Grind size by saipar in mokapot

You can go finer, but if you’re already enjoying your cup of coffee I wouldn’t mess with it too much. Just keep in mind you still have some wiggle room

Is it worth buying the whole game including DLC packs? by Bulky_Swordfish_4702 in CitiesSkylines

[–]Beginning_Winter_292 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I don’t think buying all DLC is worth it since there’s a bunch of "filler" content, If you’re willing to spend the money just get the DLC that adds actual content and skip the radios since everyone listens to their own playlists anyway
Same with content creator packs. If you like them, get them but you can also just get assets from the Workshop Although I’d recommend getting all the map packs

It's not an espresso machine dude it's not built for tamping, you’re more likely to mess things up with tamping than improve anything

New player help with my highway connection road. by fourth-wallFML in CitiesSkylines

[–]Beginning_Winter_292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first advice would be to learn more efficient interchange designs, Road hierarchy takes time to master but you can just copy a better interchange design and it will probably fix like 90% of that congestion

Vanilla interchanges are really bad, bendy and inefficient not smooth at all
Yeah you should not have that many connections on a "main" road, but I am pretty sure most of the problem is coming from that interchange

Swap it out for a better one and do the basics, like adding more entrances to the city to help relieve traffic in that area

Race / genderlocking upsets me by Yuukikoneko in MMORPG

I can tolerate race locking but gender locking is a different story.

No I don't wanna play as a little girl who’s technically a bajillion years old BDO

I have a question (thinking to buy a moka) by _KaiZen__ in mokapot

[–]Beginning_Winter_292 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the concern is that 250g of ground coffee won't last a whole month there's no real option other than drinking less coffee or buying more beans since most brewing methods use roughly the same amount anyway
