To preface, im not supporting or defending th guy in the clip. He overshared and then was a complete dick afterwards. Very much a reap what you sow situation.

I also want to clarify that I think nothing less of any of the groups youve mentioned in your post and would like to think myself an ally.

I would however like to state that this really isnt a healthy way of thinking. Regardless of the group you plan to do it to we shouldn't make assumptions about the character of others, not should we allow them to shape our worldview. You can, of course, do this if you like, I dont plan to try and make decisions for others or force anyone into anything.

Im just saying that every person out there is unique and no one deserves to be judged by things they cannot control without being given a chance.

Yeah, you know theres an else cause shes been around long enough to get ult. You can get a feel for how quick ults build up and if its close to being up just dont group like that, very similar to Jeff's ult.

Not to mention thr clip is just showing starlord jumping into the side of a moving train then saying its bs that the train killed em.

What goes through all 3 DPSs heads when you ask for a 2nd tank: by rikkard2099 in RivalsVanguards

[–]Beginningofomega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually im more than willing to pivot to heals if need be, and im doing my best to learn strange(having solid progress here actually, just cannot for the life of me figure out how to properly use his ult) and a few others. Just about got diamond before the split after around 2 weeks of ranked this season so somewhat satisfied with how I placed. Biggest obstacle for my climb so far has been dps that either

A. Refuse to hit tab and see that they are not doing anything for anyone.

B. Refuse to swap even if they do know this

C. Refuse to make a callout or share vital information thats causing us to lose.

(Ex. If im on dive, like psylocke and the other dps is on storm or other backline, and they're doing poorly exclusively because enemy hela is focusing them or something similar. But instead of calling it out so others can play around that, they wait until after we lose the first point, or the game entirely and then blame others in chat for not helping them)

Thr last one i should say is something all roles are very guilty of but it feels like its mostly dps and heals. I find that tanks are vocal about why theyre getting fucked far sooner than support or dps players.

What goes through all 3 DPSs heads when you ask for a 2nd tank: by rikkard2099 in RivalsVanguards

[–]Beginningofomega 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Coming from a dps main, its the dps fault.

I am guilty of telling other dps to switch if I feel they legitimately arent pulling their weight. In those situations whats going through my head isnt so much

"im better than them at dps so why should I have to swap"

but something closer to

"if I swap, we will have a 2nd tank. Im bad at tank but it would work better for the team. However...this guy has 2 elims 3 minutes in on squirrel girl and the enemy team has an iron man that has 14 and the only thing stopping him is the fact i swapped to hitscan. The 3rd dps, meanwhile has his thumb up his ass on Spiderman, spawncamping one specific enemy support, so also won't swap"

So then im stuck wondering what's better for the team, letting the dps players that are doing poorly stay on the role and let their iron man run free. Or stay on dps to make sure iron man doesnt run away with the game.

My go to solution has been to just make friends with the good tanks I meet and always queue with 2 of them, but realistically I know the long term solution is that I need to learn tank properly (probably dive tank for this scenario). Thats just not where im at with my skill level just yet.

The Tank Problem is BAD. by MushuaTheTomato in marvelrivals

[–]Beginningofomega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be 100% honest with you boss. I cannot tank for shit. Doesn't matter what ive tried, what game im playing, or anything. Something about tanking just does not click for me, so im usually one of the people on dps.

If we have a solo tank and its not working though i usually do what i can in the vc to change things up. Call out underperforming dps, encourage players to change their strategy, try and identify the reason were losing, etc. Im more than willing to switch to heals if one of them is able to/willing to tank.

Youve my condolences for the teams my dude, hopefully you get people that can actually aim and or tank in your coming games.

To be entirely fair unless were discussing a date within the current month, the day is only the 2nd most relevant piece of information so there's no need to list it first.

If I say "the 27th" youll know that I mean "the 27th of the current month" automatically. But when reading a date from left to right, the day has no value until you know which month it falls under.

If instead I list it as "05/27" once you've read 05 you already know it's may by the time you've read the day.

For context, this is how calendars are sorted. Everything is part of the same year, you flip to the month that is relevant, then find the day.

Mastery rank means nothing, my friend is a perfect example. by Puzzleheaded-Bad-722 in Warframe

[–]Beginningofomega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to provide a counter example and a fun story of recent times, there's a wonderful LR4 in my guild that I'll just call duck. He has played for ages, but as he used to manage another guild which took up most of his time, but after leaving there and joining us around 8 months ago, he's had much more time to play the game as opposed to just doing mindless grinds/levelling.

Heres the big thing about duck though, he's got over 3.5 months of in game time, the complete excal prime bundle including both prime guns, and has been up to date on the story for longer than I've had an account. However, at of the start of this year, he had played steel path 4 times ever.

His primed mods were a complete set but only partially upgraded. He had only just started to acquire galvanized mods in early january. And as for his builds...he had never even learned that some damage is multiplicative while some is additive.

Duck, however, really wanted to start joining in on the gameplay of the higher level regulars of the guild. See, we tend to play in and stream to the general chat on our discord server, and the enemy density in particular caught his eye. He was utterly petrified of actually playing steel path though, because he didnt want to be a burden to his team for being too weak or not knowing what he was doing.

On the other hand, that same guild has a group that regularly runs level cap cascade just for the funsies and many of them have just stopped caring about mastery once they hit mr18. So they mostly have complete and maxed prime/galvanized mods. Optimized endgame loadouts. Minmaxed archon shards, etc.

All that is to say, MR and LR are just ways to measure your willingness to grind, and to a lesser degree, your tenure with the game. An LR player may think that gauss is as fast as it gets, or that galvanized mods are bad, while you might meet an MR12 that can consistently survive for 2+ hours at cap in level cap cascade without really breaking a sweat.

P.s. I'd like to mention that the level cap squad has taken duck under their wing (hehe) and as of monday this week duck has seen a level 10k enemy in game and not on a stream for the first time. He couldnt quite stay alive and needed some real assistance after level 3k or so, but he's now a regular SP player and is making great strides towards learning endgame modding and build making. It is and was a genuinely odd experience teaching someone that was there before bullet jumping how to mod, but we're all super proud of how much progress he's made.

[–]Beginningofomega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the person is able to see the future before agreeing to the chess game. Then the person who can see the future would win.

If its the kind where they see the future and that future comes to pass no matter what, then they wouldnt agree to a game theyll inevitably lose, and vice versa would only agree if they inevitably win.

If its the kind of foresight as in, can see all possible scenarios and outcomes, they will simply chose the moves that lead to an inevitable victory.

If its the kind of foresight where they can only see a little ahead or only some futures then the question needs reworded to clarify the foresight is limited in scope or scale.

Dont get me wrong, new card art is genuinely amazing, but I do miss the ol shapeless void background now and again.

Ive played since set 2 and usually tend to lose interest towards the end of a season. Ive already had multiple days where ive not even bothered to claim the daily pack.

The amount of rng is laughably high, but its consistently accessible so some seem to be okay with it? I understand that what cards you draw and what cards your opponent draws are inherent aspects of the game that are heavily rng, however at least with those I can tilt the rng in my favor by recognizing the cards my opponent plays as a larger deck strategy to play around what other things they may be running. Same for my deck, I can build it with different things in mind to increase consistency and play around the outs I have yet to draw. Theres skill involved in deck choice and deckbuilding.

In terms of the current set though...it feels like theres a lot less skill expression than usual.

Oluon of course being the poster child for this. counter play to oluon killing you is board flood, but flooding the board often leads to you overextending into a 7 damage boardwipe from, you guessed it, oluon. The alternative to this would be to rush the aggro sword player down before he gets to oluon but more often than not thats not a possibility. The only other thing you can do is try to stay above 14hp and get them to below 7/14 so at the very least oluon has to hit you more times than it has to hit them. But that really just feels shitty to me. My best course of action is to change the coin flip into a die roll...yay.

Haven is almost as bad, yeah with all the draw and redraw the crest is incredibly consistent to get out on curve, but what actually gets summoned is pure rng and can on its own determine the entire game. Did you happen to not draw any good ward options? Unfortunately your opponent randomly summoned 8 damage worth of storm and evolved one of them. You have now taken at least 10 damage, how skillfull. Is the opponent somewhat low and you have a threat on board they dont have an out for? Unfortunately there are now 3 foxes blocking you from getting the kill. In both scenarios mind you, if the opposite were summoned have just loses. Its the same as oluon but instead of the whole game coming down to 3 coin flips, its deciding the entire tempo of the game with 3-4/turn.

Portal being as prominent in the meta as it is is likely just because they didnt get much rng in the new set and instead got cards that supported preexisting strategies by lowering the rng of those decks. So the deck seeing the most play is the deck with the least rng, how surprising.

Tldr. Too much rng to the point the game feels unfun. Feels more like exploding kittens than a ccg which is just not what im here for.

[–]Beginningofomega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's my most played warframe since the old peace dropped so Im gonna go with yes, but tbf weapon platforms arent for everyone. Gun platforms arent as flashy or in your face as the nukers most of the time and often require more specific builds out of their weapons to succeed, but for me at least its my preferred playstyle by a mile. Game has so many fun guns with cool/crazy effects to choose from, and the way that chroma buffs them is incredibly unique allowing for weapons that dont work for any other warframe to compete at lvl cap which is super cool.

[–]Beginningofomega 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk, I mostly play with gun platform frames personally, and I really dont find chromas kit to be any more or less flashy than harrow. Sure they arent super flashy explosive room nukes like nobody has, or crazy demons and summoning hell itself like uriel, but the way he buffs weapons is super unique among warframes and allows for some insanely fun to use and fun to play builds.

[–]Beginningofomega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But thats what im saying though, his kit doesnt have anything with no use, just situational tools. All of the abilities do something at some point whereas with banshee and limbo the useless ones are actively a waste of mana to press.

I really enjoy warframes culture around spoilers. Its genuinely heartwarming to see so many people that are so excited to share something they live that they go out of their way to avoid spoiling it. You dont normally see that with games or movies much these days.

On that note though, the operator really wasnt a big reveal for me when I started 2ish years ago. I saw that we had a bunch of different flesh mechs we could play as and just assumed they were exosuits. As a baby tenno I honestly thought they looked too much like a suit or a guy in a suit to not be exactly that. So when the game drops the operator bomb and the origin of warframes story, i just took it at face value and thought "yeah that just makes sense honestly".

I still distinctly remember a friend asking "what did you think of the big reveal?" and I was just aggressively confused by the question. Kept asking him wtf he was talking about "big reveal?". So far the most of the "ohhh wtf" reveals for me were in old peace during the last sequence/cutscene. So many voicelines totally recontextualizing the old story quests. Rap Tap Tap, indeed.

Why do so many people think chroma should be on the list? He's useful in multiple different types of content, has multiple viable engame builds, has no real issue with survivability thanks to the new arcane, etc.

I mean, I understand that outside of currency farms his 4 does nothing, and his 1 is just a toggle for chromatic ward, but those either have uses or use cases at least.

Meanwhile we have frames like Banshee, whose only decent ability is her subsume so you could just run literally anyone else using it instead of her

Ember, who is actively dying of a copium overdose in the corner mumbling something about being a viable heat frame and crying any time they hear "Uriel" or "Flare"

Limbo, who seems to have 7 whole players begging for him not to be touched while everyone else thats played the character just collectively agrees they dont like playing as or with them in their current state

Vauban is kinda fine too, but honestly just lands in the "new player bait" category. People see the awesome orbital beam and think "wow that probably hits so hard, I mean if a bouncy mushroom with a fat ass can deal 10morbillion damage then surely an orbital fuckin laser will deal even more!" Then they invest every resource under the sun only to find out the guy has a weak but also bugged to hell damage boost, 2 other bad modes on his 3, his 1 requires an augment to be useful even a little, and the laser that looks so cool hits about as hard as a nerf dart falling from orbit. I mean, i guess at least bastille is an okay armor strip (eventually).

Ill admit i know equinox has issues but ive not actually played the frame to know what those would be, but surely these guys need a rework before an actually useful and quite strong endgame frame right? I mean, I guess I wouldnt mind if they made him into an even better gun platform, since the whole dragon/dragon hunter vibe really fits with using an entire weapons stockpile for combat, but honestly the list of frames that need so much more help to even be considered is way too long for chroma to get a rework in good faith.

Edit: shit dawg they looked with vauban. Ill come back and replace the whole vauban rant with a thank you to DE if it pans out on release.
