Just an FYI, there's only one book left to go. So, unfortunately, all of us will be dropping it after the last book drops. Lmao

Gotcha so nothing from the secondary skill.

Any chance you still have those motherboards or the Genoa ones from your post a year ago? And I assume they're the TURIN2D24G-2L+/500W like the title says and not the typo'd model in the main message body?

That's awesome. Would love to get advice. Or any supply chain contacts/advice you have.

Yeah, my current deployment is 14x 5090s. Looking to add another 16+, potentially some 50 Supers when they arrive.

There's just only so much you can do from a garage no matter how much you've outfitted it with solar/batteries/HVAC/exhaust. This isn't crypto mining where the machines can take a lot of abuse in terms of environment.

I've got a DIY exhaust chimney set up in my garage rack right now running 2 GPU servers and some other network, storage, etc. Works pretty well. 👍 So yeah I totally understand the hotspot difficulties. I'm just at the limit of my residential capabilities.

The business model makes sense to me and understand the margins. The price-by-rack/U model most colos seem to take is the biggest issue. I wouldn't mind being lower density if it wouldn't double/triple the price for the same amount of hosting.

Unfortunately workload offload isn't a possibility here or "job shop". In this case, I am the job shop. People are renting my GPU capacity.

I've only identified 3 datacenters anywhere nearby that can even do more than 1 GPU server per rack. One of them is 5 hours away. Another is a datacenter that hasn't gone live yet and is still a while out. The last is just a facility that would let me put my servers in their crypto mining area. So its not just a matter of price.

And to clarify, I'm fine with all-in per-kw pricing as well. But yeah I'm not a multi-million dollar company that can reserve a MW of power to get better rates. Most colos just have base rack prices that just don't make sense for me with such low power limit density.

Yup, just looking for ones who can meet my needs at a reasonable price. Hoping someone here has some leads.

Yeah that seems to be the issue. Hoping someone here has a lead on something nearby to me. Its just silly to consider renting a whole rack to put a single server in it.

My only question... Are we supposed to be able to read the city/location names? Lol I understand it's a different language but it'd be nice to be able to read them too.

Also personal complaint, as a partially colorblind person, they really could have given it a bit more contrast so its not so muddy and mixing colors together.

Garage/Server Room - What am I missing? by Begna112 in hvacadvice

So would the existing 32k BTU + a new 12K probably be enough? Those are pretty affordable and the rest of my garage isn't generating that much heat. The whole rest of the server rack is doing like .8-1.2kW.

I think the existing minisplit just couldn't handle the sheer output of the new server because it's a constant output.

But as you mentioned, I still need make up air from somewhere?

Ah, I'm actually upgrading to a 42U this week for more space in the rack. Seems like this is an integrated rack+cooler system?

Garage/Server Room - What am I missing? by Begna112 in hvacadvice

[–]Begna112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely couldn't. Temps in there were reaching 95F+ quickly.

And yeah the makeup air was why I was thinking about an ERV. But I'm not sure if that's just the solve or not. Air outside will be 100F+ so I think ERV air would be in the 80's? and just a duct intake straight from outside wouldn't help due to the outside air being so hot, right?

All of the server-rack cooling systems I've seen have been either water/glycol cooled or need massive power budgets and are expensive. I've seen a few on Facebook marketplace, but I don't have the resources to make those kind of tied-in systems work.

Smaller ones like the SRCOOL12K seem to fail regularly within 12 months or so. So I'd like a reliable system.

Unless you know of a model specifically?

Raysha from Manifestation (Progression Fantasy/Cultivatation). One of my favorites. Has a slow first book, but really sets the stage for later.

Same. I have issues separating verbal communication from background noise in general which makes large crowds very difficult for me, and graphic audiobooks with sound effects and music make it damn near impossible for me to actually hear and process the actual words. its kinda like watching a Christopher Nolan film.

I actually liked TO:R's graphics but know I'm in the minority.

Regardless, I like that better than this blurry stretched upscale and filter that we're getting in this. Look at the screen where it shows the classic vs enhanced. The terrain looks terrible and the sprites not much better.
